Realme has just launched a couple of new products in India earlier today (23rd July 2021). This includes the new Watch 2 Series, the Buds Wireless 2 Series, and even the new Buds Q2 Neo.

Watch 2 and Watch 2 Pro

The Chinese smartphone maker has just launched the new Realme Watch 2 and Watch 2 Pro in India. These smartwatches arrive with a square shaped screen, which is similar to their predecessor that launched last year. While the Watch 2 Pro also sports a square screen, it arrives with an improved design and features as well. The Pro variant has a 1.75 inch color display that has a higher screen to body ratio than the last gen, along with improvements to watch faces, the addition of new sports modes, and GPS location tracking.

The base Watch 2 sports a smaller 1.4 inch display, and also arrives with 90 sports modes, like basketball, boxing, dancing, golf, hiking, indoor cycling, and many more. Other features for both the smartwatches include Hydration Reminder, Sedentary Reminder, Camera Control, and Mediation Assistant. Notably, the Watch 2 series also supports heart rate and blood oxygen level tracking, along with sleep monitoring as well. The company claims 12 days of battery life for the Watch 2 and up to 14 days for the Wach 2 Pro. These can also connect to the Realme Link App.

Buds Wireless 2 and Buds Wireless 2 Neo

Apart from the Watch 2 series, the company also launched a new lineup of neckband earphones as well. The Buds Wireless 2 and Buds Wireless 2 Neo have just been announced. The former arrives with support for active noise cancellation and LDAC, which is an advanced Bluetooth codec that offers better sound quality on audio tracks that have a high resolution. Although, it still supports AAC and SBC codecs. It features a neckband design with 13.6mm dynamic drivers.

The brand claims 22 hours of battery life for the Buds Wireless 2, which also features fast charging support and 88ms low latency gaming mode. For protection is arrives with an IPX5 water resistance rating. On the other hand, the Buds Wireless 2 Neo is similar in some regard but overall arrives with fewer features to make it more affordable. The earphones can be charged for 10 minutes but will offer 120 minutes of playback as per official notes. It supports ENC (environment noise cancellation) along with IPX4 water resistance and low latency mode as well.

Buds Q2 Neo

Finally, Realme also unveiled the new Buds Q2 Neo earbuds in India. The primary difference between the Buds Q2 and the new Neo variant is the lack of active noise cancellation. Instead, it features ENC for better performance during phone calls. It also offers the 88ms low latency gaming mode and can connect to the Link app for customized settings as well. The company claims it can offer about 20 hours of playback and also arrives with Bluetooth 5.0.

Price and Availability

The Realme Watch 2 series and Buds 2 Wireless series are set to be available for purchase starting from July 26 while the Buds Q2 Neo will launch on 29th July 2021. The products will be available from the company’s official website, along with Flipkart, Amazon, and select offline stores. Their prices are:

• Watch 2 – 3,499 INR (roughly 47 USD)
• Watch 2 Pro – 4,999 INR (roughly 67 USD)
• Buds Wireless 2 – 2,299 INR (roughly 31 USD)
• Buds Wireless 2 Neo – 1,499 INR (roughly 20 USD)
• Buds Q2 – 1,599 INR (roughly 22 USD)

Notably, the Watch 2, Buds Wireless 2, Buds Wireless 2 Neo, and Buds Q2 Neo will be available for a discounted early bird price of 2,999 INR (roughly 40 USD), 1,999 INR (roughly 27 USD), 1,399 INR (roughly 19 USD), and 1,299 INR (roughly 17 USD) respectively.

OnePlus Nord 2 and OnePlus Buds Pro – July 22

The OnePlus Nord was one of the best-selling mid-range phones launched last year and we will be getting a successor on Thursday, July 22. The Nord 2 will be powered by a MediaTek processor, a first for the company. This is no ordinary MediaTek chip but a custom Dimensity 1200 with tuned-up AI features.

Alongside the OnePlus Nord2, the manufacturer will also announce the OnePlus Buds Pro. It has been confirmed that the earbuds will have adaptive noise cancellation.

Realme Watch 2 Pro, Realme Buds Wireless 2 Neo, and Realme Buds Q2 Neo – July 23

Realme will be bringing its Realme Watch 2 Pro smartwatch to India on Friday, the 23rd of July. The square-faced smartwatch launched earlier this year in other markets. It won’t be coming alone as the Realme Buds Q2 Neo and Realme Buds Wireless 2 Neo a new pair of earbuds and Bluetooth neckband-style earphones respectively will also tag along.

Earlier this year, Realme unveiled its Watch 2 Pro in the global markets including Malaysia with highlights like a big 1.75-inch display and dual-satellite GPS. Today, Realme has officially announced that the Realme Watch 2 Pro is arriving next week in the Indian market. Realme has scheduled the launch event for July 23 in India at 12:30 PM IST. Additionally, Realme is also slated to launch a premium pair of wireless earbuds dubbed Realme Buds Wireless 2 at the event with Sony LDAC Hi-Res Audio support.

In the global market, the Realme Watch 2 Pro is priced at 74.99 Euros(~$89). That said, we can expect similar pricing in the Indian market. Once launched in India, we can also expect the smartwatch to go on sale in the upcoming Amazon Prime Day sale on July 26.

Realme Watch 2 Pro Specifications 

Realme Watch 2 Pro comes with an Apple Watch-like design sporting a big 1.75-inch display with a 320 x 385 pixels resolution. The screen has 600 nits of peak brightness and comes with 100+ watch faces.

Its features a dual-satellite GPS system and blood oxygen monitoring sensor. It also has an optical heart rate sensor, a sleep cycle tracker, and a pedometer for step tracking. The smartwatch has 90 sports modes including badminton, jump rope, football, and others.

The Watch 2 Pro has an IP68 water-resistant rating meaning that it can take a few splashes of water. The smartwatch packs a 390mAh battery which is claimed to last for up to 14 days.

Realme today held the Realme GT global launch event where the Realme GT 5G was the star of the night. The company also introduced a new Vacuum Cleaner as well as teased the Realme Book which will be announced in due course. Realme Watch 2 and Realme Watch 2 Pro were also announced during the event.

The Realme Watch 2 Pro was first announced in Malaysia earlier this month but this is the first time the company is showcasing the Watch 2. The two smartwatches take over from the Realme Watch that was launched last year. They are distinct from each other only in the screen size and battery size and a few other features.

The Realme Watch 2 Pro features a bigger 1.75-inch display with a resolution of 320 x 385 pixels. The Realme Watch 2 is designed for users who prefer a smaller, compact smartwatch as it features a 1.4-inch display with a resolution of 320 x 320 pixels. The two displays output the same 600 nits peak brightness. However, the Watch 2 Pro has a bigger 390mAh battery capacity which can last up to 14 days on a single charge despite the higher resolution and screen size. On the other hand, the Watch 2 has a standby time of 12 days.

In addition, the Watch 2 Pro comes with a dual-satellite system – GPS+glonass but the Watch 2 doesn’t have support for GPS. Both models, however, come with an IP68 water rating. You also get other smartwatch features such as an optical heart rate sensor, and blood oxygen monitoring. The watch also comes with a heart rate tracker, sleep cycle tracker, steps, calories and distance covered, and other tracking features. The Watch 2 series also comes with up to 90 Sports modes including outdoor running, walking, football, basketball, badminton, jump rope, and others.

As for the pricing and availability, the Realme Watch 2 Pro will retail for 54.99 Euros (~$67) while the Watch 2 Pro is priced at 74.99 Euros (~$91). The smartwatches will be available from June 16 and will be sold on Realme.com and Amazon. The Watch 2 Pro is available in two color variants, namely Space grey, and Metallic Silver while the Watch 2 will be available in only Space grey.

Earlier today (20th May 2021), Realme held an AIoT launch conference in Malaysia. During this event, the company announced various smartphone products, including new wireless earphones, Bluetooth speakers, and even the Realme Watch 2 Pro.

The device is the latest wearable product from the company and sports a 1.75 inch colored display that has a 320x285px resolution. This panel has a maximum brightness of 600 nits and a 30Hz refresh rate. The Chinese tech giant even offers an IP68 water rating and claims that the device can offer up to 14 days of battery life with its 390mAh in built battery pack. Similar to most smartwatches, the Watch 2 Pro also offers an optical heart rate sensor, and even blood oxygen monitoring as well.

It can even track the heart rate of the user, map their blood oxygen levels, and even track sleep cycles, steps, calories consumed, distance covered, and more. Furthermore, it also offers high precision dual satellite GPS tracking and offers 90 different sports modes as well. This includes activity modes like outdoor running, walking, football, basketball, badminton, jump rope, and various other sports as well.

The Watch 2 Pro can be connected to the users’ smartphone through the Realme Link App, which offers also offers additional functionality as well. It is currently available in Malaysia for a price of 299 Malaysian Ringgit (roughly 72 US Dollars) and is offered in two color variants, namely Space grey, and Metallic Silver. Although, the wearable is expected to hit markets in other countries as well soon.

Aliexpress is also selling the Realme Watch 2 Pro for $53.99 globally.

Last month, Realme held an event tagged AIoT Grand Launch Season 3 where the Watch 2,  Buds Q2, Watch S Masters edition, and several other smart products were launched. The Chinese company has now released yet another poster which points to a similar event dubbed AIoT Sports Launch and scheduled to hold virtually on May 20.

Just as the name implies, the event will see the Chinese tech giant launch four different sports-centric products. The products expected to be unveiled include the Realme Watch 2 Pro which is likely a higher model to the Watch 2 that was launched in Malaysia last month. The Watch 2 Pro was spotted alongside the Watch 2 in the source code of the realme Link app back in January. The Pro model was equally certified by the FCC in February. Perhaps, Realme is saving the best for the last by not launching the watch last month alongside the Watch 2.

Furthermore, Realme will also launch the Buds Wireless 2, Buds Wireless 2 Neo and finally, the realme Pocket Bluetooth Speaker. While the watch will keep track of your work out session and monitor the user’s fitness level and progress, the wireless earbuds and Bluetooth Speaker are being projected to keep the user entertained while working out. The earbuds will comes with some level of waterproof rating that’ll make them suitable for use during work out session without fear of getting damaged by sweat.

The earlier FCC listing for the Realme Watch 2 Pro shows that it will packs a bumped up 390mAH battery as against a 315mAh cell on the vanilla Buds 2.

realme recently brought the smartwatches like realme Watch S, S Pro in countries like India. Soon after, the successors of the first realme Watch started appearing online. The realme Watch 2 and Watch 2 Pro moniker first appeared on the source code of realme Link App. Now, the ‘Pro’ branding has been confirmed by FCC.

As posted by Mukul Sharma, a realme device with model number RMA2006 appears on FCC. The certification Straight up shows that the device’s name is realme Watch 2 Pro. Although the documents of the certification aren’t fully uploaded yet, we get to see the watch dial design having a square-shape with rounded corners.

One of the reports, which is for the placement of the FCC label on the watch, shows the schematics. As shown below, there are cut-outs of the outer frame at the top and bottom which should be the placement of straps. On the side, we see another cut-out that could be for the single Watch controls key.

Further, the FCC listing shows that the power supply model is XE205. Checking this in other certifications like UL Demko, it has been certified with a 390mAh battery. This suggests that the Pro variant will sport a slightly bigger battery than its sibling.

Speaking of which the realme Watch 2(RMA2008) has already been certified on FCC and the majority of its specs have leaked. Accordingly, it will come with a 1.4-inch TFT square-shaped LCD square-shaped panel, 305mAh battery, Bluetooth 5.0 LE,  water and dust resistance, Blood Oxygen(SpO2) and Heart-rate monitoring(PPG), and more.

Let’s wait for a few days to as the FCC listing will likely reveal more specs of the realme Watch 2 Pro. This realme Watch 2 Pro has also been spotted on India’s BIS suggesting a wider launch soon.

Last year, in the months of May, Realme launched its first smartwatch in the market — Realme Watch S. A few months ago, it launched the Realme Watch S and S Pro. Now, it seems that the company is gearing up to launch the successor of its first watch.

Realme has a mobile application named Realme Link which acts as a hub for all the connected devices coming from the company. Now, a report claims that the app’s source code has revealed the Realme Watch 2 and Realme Watch 2 Pro devices.

Presence of the two upcoming smartwatches in the company’s application hints that Realme is quite close to making these devices official. However, the company has not yet officially shared anything related to this.

Also, while the app mentions these two upcoming devices, it doesn’t reveal anything related to their specifications and features. However, given that the devices are the successor to the existing models, we expect some noteworthy improvements.

To remind you of the specs and features of the Realme Watch, it comes with a 1.4-inch Touchscreen display with 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top, offering 320 x 320 pixels screen resolution, 323 PPI pixel density, and 380 nits brightness.

It comes with a 24/7 Health Assistant, which includes a real-time heart rate monitor, blood oxygen level monitor (SpO2), and 14 sports modes. There’s also Step Tracker, Idle Alert, Meditation, Water Drinking Reminder, and Sleep Monitor.

The device can be used to control music, unlock smartphones, as well as to control the smartphone’s camera functions. It is IP68 rated, making it water and dust resistant. The product is priced at ₹3,999, which is approximately $55. We expect a bit higher pricing for the successor, if not the same.
