It provides better performance, but it is not necessarily more interesting than the X7 Pro for everyone. Which device should you opt for? Is it worth spending more for the Max variant or it is better to save money for the Realme X7 Pro? Given the similarity between their specifications, it is not too easy to answer this question, that is why we decided to publish a specs comparison between Realme X7 Max 5G and X7 Pro. Note that the Realme X7 Max 5G is the Global variant of the device known in China as the Realme GT Neo.

Design

Realme X7 Max 5G and Realme X7 Pro are not so different in terms of design. They both come with a plastic body, the same shape for the camera module, and a punch-hole display. What changes are the color options: with the Max variant you get a vertical stripe from the camera module to the bottom of the device, while the Realme X7 Pro has that big Dare to Leap slogan printed on the right side of the back cover. Realme X7 Max 5G and Realme X7 Pro differ when they come to the dimensions: the former is more compact because it has a smaller display, and it is also slightly thinner and slightly lighter than Realme X7 Pro, despite packing a battery with the same battery capacity. That is the reason why I would prefer the Realme X7 Max 5G.

Display

The display specifications of Realme X7 Max 5G and Realme X7 Pro are more or less the same. They have a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, a 120 Hz refresh rate, a high peak brightness, and an optical in-display fingerprint reader. But the size is different: the former comes with a 6.43-inch panel, while the latter has a diagonal of 6.55 inches. There is also another difference: Realme X7 Max 5G is protected by Dragontrail Glass, while Realme X7 Pro has the more trustworthy Gorilla Glass 5.

Specs & Software

The biggest advantage of the Realme X7 Max 5G is its superior hardware department. The phone is fueled by the Dimenstiy 1200 mobile platform which is actually the most advanced SoC by MediaTek. You also get up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of native storage (UFS 3.1). With the Realme X7 Pro, you have an inferior Dimensity 1000+ chipset (still among the three best chipsets by MTK), up to 8 GB of RAM, and up to 256 GB of UFS 2.1 internal storage. Realme X7 Max 5G runs Android 11 out of the box, while Realme X7 Pro comes with Android 10 out of the box, so it will most likely get a shorter software support period.

Camera

The Realme X7 Pro is a superior camera phone to the Realme X7 Max 5G, but the differences are marginal. The phones are both equipped with a 64 MP main camera, an 8 MP ultrawide sensor, and a 2 MP macro camera, but the Realme X7 Pro adds another 2 MP sensor for depth calculation. Further, the internal rival of the X7 Max has a better front camera: it offers a 32 MP front snapper instead of the 16 MP sensor of the X7 Max 5G.

Battery

Realme X7 Max 5G and X7 Pro have the same battery capacity: 4500 mAh. However, the Realme X7 Max 5G should last a bit more because its display is smaller and its chipset is built at 6 nm instead of 7 nm. On the other hand, the Pro provides a faster charging technology with a power of 65W, and it even supports reverse charging.

Price

Realme X7 Max 5G has a starting listing price of Rs. 28,400 in India, while Realme X7 Pro starts from Rs. 30,900, but actually it is a lot cheaper because of street prices. The Realme X7 Max 5G offers a better processor and Android 11 out of the box, but do you really need them if you can get a wider display, a better front camera, and faster charging while keeping a great hardware department? It is your call.

He revealed that the company will be announcing India’s first Dimensity 1200 powered smartphone, and some other products. It is speculated that Realme’s Dimensity 1200 phone will be arriving in the Indian market with the Realme X7 Max 5G moniker.

Sheth’s confirmation on the May 4 launch event can be seen after the 9:00 minute mark in the Ask Madhav episode. The mega event will be held in celebration of the anniversary of the brand. Apart from the Dimensity 1200 smartphone, the company plans to launch several new products on May 4. One of them seems to be a new Realme TV as Sheth claimed, “We are also bringing a new cinema experience with handsfree voice control with Dolby Vision & Audio experience.”

Sheth recently revealed that the company will be soon launching a new 43-inch 4K TV and he also hinted the arrival of a new 49-inch / 50-inch TV with a home theatre experience. It remains to be seen what other products will be announced on May 4 in India.

Coming back to the Dimensity 1200 powered phone, it appears that China’s Realme GT Neo will be rebranded as the Realme X7 Max 5G. A recent leak claimed that it may arrive in variants like 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage and 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage. It is expected to come in color options like Mercury Silver, Asteroid Black, and Milky Way.

The report had revealed the color variants and configurations of the device. However, it was incorrectly speculated that it could be based on the Realme X7 Pro Ultra (Extreme Edition), which was announced in China recently. Some reports have claimed the company is planning to launch the Realme GT Neo in India in May. Fresh information shared by a tipster reveals that the Realme GT Neo will be rebranded as the Realme X7 Max in India.

According to tipster Debayan Roy, the specifications of the Realme X7 Max are totally similar to the GT Neo. It was reported by TechRadar last week, that the X7 Max will come in variants like 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage and 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage. It may come in color editions such as Mercury Silver, Asteroid Black, and Milky Way.

The device is expected to come preloaded with Realme UI 2.0 based Android 11 OS.

For selfies, it may feature a front camera of 16-megapixel. Its rear camera setup may include a 64-megapixel primary camera with f/1.8 aperture, an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens with a 119-degree FOV, and a 2-megapixel macro shooter.
