The freshly launched Huawei Router X1 and X1 Pro bring Wi-Fi 7 to your living room, wrapped in a sleek, modern design that’s meant to sit out in the open, not gather dust behind your TV. NordVPN and ASUS have joined forces to integrate the popular VPN directly into ASUS’s networking devices, making it easier than ever for users to protect their entire home network. Traditionally, VPNs require installation on individual devices. With this integration, users simply need a router with built-in NordVPN functionality, eliminating the need for separate software on each machine. This also extends protection to devices that wouldn’t typically support VPN software.

Once users access their router’s self-service page, they can enable the VPN.

The first two routers to receive this integration are the tri-mode connectivity ASUS RT-AX57 Go and the GT-AX11000 Pro, a model designed specifically for gamers. Setting up the integrated NordVPN service is a breeze – users simply need to access the router’s self-service page. “Our goal is to contribute to a more secure internet,” said Vykintas Maknickas, Head of Product Strategy at NordVPN. “By enabling easy setup of VPN services on routers, we can protect entire networks for our customers.”

ASUS is equally enthusiastic about the collaboration. Tenlong Deng, Corporate Vice President and General Manager of Networking and Wireless Devices Business Unit at ASUS, expressed his delight: “We’re thrilled to partner with NordVPN and integrate their service into our products. The built-in VPN configuration options offer users a flexible and secure way to explore the internet with complete privacy.”

After Huawei launched its high-tech routers in March this year, it’s sub-brand is now all set to launch similar products in its home market later this month. However, ahead of the launch, three new routers from the company have surfaced online.

Honor’s official Tmall has listed three new routers from the company, which will get launched on 18th May, the same day when the company has scheduled its Honor Smart Life event for launching multiple products.

The three routers from the company that have been listed include Honor X3, Honor X3 Pro, and Honor Wi-Fi 6+. However, there’s nothing known about these products and the listing has a placeholder pricing.

From the image shared by the company’s president, it seems that Honor could also launch a new Honor Smart Screen as well as a tablet at the same launch event. But we are yet to get any confirmation regarding this.

It’ll be interesting to see what products the company has up its sleeves for the 18th May launch event. Just a couple of days after the Honor Smart Life event for smart connected devices, the company will be launching Honor X10 5G smartphone on 20th May.

A few weeks ago, Huawei had launched two new routers – the Huawei AX3 and AX3 Pro – both of which are claimed to be the world’s first Wi-Fi 6+ routers. The company is touting high speed gains and better coverage with its new lineup of Huawei AX3 series routers. For those unaware, Huawei is a pioneering figure in the telecommunications industry. It is a leader in 5G networking and its supplementing equipment and technologies, and the continued investments in the field have been the key factor leading to this achievement. Currently, the company is also working with various governments from across the globe that is adopting the newer faster bandwidth.

The NetEngine 8000 series from Huawei is the only router in the industry that supports the E2E 400GE standards. In other words, the company has launched cutting edge routers that have yet to see a viable rival competing against it. This series of routers are capable of handling ten fold increases in traffic while also maintaining affordable per bit costs for large scale businesses.

Xiaomi has finally confirmed that it will announce its new Wi-Fi 6 router, the Xiaomi AIoT AX3600 at the Xiaomi Mi 10 online launch event on February 13. The existence of this router was first revealed by Digital Chat Station a couple of days back. But today, the company also revealed that the new router will be based on the Qualcomm Networking Pro 600 Wi-Fi 6 platform, which is essentially built for enterprise-grade routers.

Xiaomi has highlighted that the Mi AIoT AX3600 Wi-Fi ax router is the first to use an enterprise-grade platform for the consumer market. In the image shared on the company’s Weibo account, we can see that this router will be powered by Qualcomm’s IPQ8071 platform. The chipmaker explains that this platform is “the ideal architecture for retail routers, two-radio mesh networking systems, broadband gateways, as well as enterprise and carrier-class applications.”

The new-age Wi-Fi 6 promises to optimize power consumption and coverage capabilities of a router with support for high-speed concurrent connections. Other benefits of this new-generation connectivity include lower overall latency and high rate of data transmission.

We can expect more details about the new router in the next couple of days. It will officially launch alongside the Mi 10 series at an online-only event in China on Thursday, February 13.
