<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">According to </span><a href="https://weibo.com/6048569942/KwqWxkcpG"><i><span style="font-weight: 400;">Digital Chat Station</span></i></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">, Huawei has got access to two other </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Qualcomm/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Qualcomm</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> Snapdragon SoCs other than Snapdragon 888. These are Snapdragon 778G and the upcoming SM8450 (aka Snapdragon 898).</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Just like the </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/?post_type=aps-products&amp;s=HUAWEI+P50"><span style="font-weight: 400;">HUAWEI P50 series</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> phones, the handsets using these chipsets will also lack 5G connectivity. That’s because Huawei will be getting a special 4G version due to the US sanctions. Unfortunately, the leaker does not mention which </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/HUAWEI/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">HUAWEI</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> phones will be using these two SoCs. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Going by the Chinese tech giant’s now disrupted smartphone release cycle, the 4G version of Snapdragon 778G might power the rumored HUAWEI nova 9 series. On the other hand, the 4G variant of the </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/06/04/qualcomm-sm8450-specs-leak/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">unreleased SM8450</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> could drive the delayed HUAWEI Mate 50 series.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">As of now, we don’t have any solid proof for this claim. However, since most of the information shared by Digital Chat Station has been accurate so far, the new details posted by him on Weibo could also be indeed true.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Last but not least, the leaker also says that Huawei might also use </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/MediaTek/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">MediaTek</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> chipsets, however, the deal is yet to be finalized.</span></p>

<p>The SM8450 has now appeared in the rumor mill again. Noted Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed that the upcoming 4nm Qualcomm chipset is already being sampled by many of the top Chinese phone manufacturers who may likely release models powered by the next-gen Qualcomm flagship. The tipster also disclosed that the enhancement on the upcoming chipset may be more than on last year&#8217;s Snapdragon 865 and SD 865+. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/snapdragon-888.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-394768" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/snapdragon-888.jpg?x10805" alt="Snapdragon 888 successsor" width="640" height="213" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/snapdragon-888.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/snapdragon-888-300x100.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px" /></a></p>
<p>We can&#8217;t say how fast that can be for now but the earlier leak tips the chipset to feature Qualcomm’s new ARMv9 chip architecture with Kryo 780 cores. The chipset also features an Adreno 730 GPU, Adreno 665 Video Processing Unit (VPU), and Adreno 1195 Display Processing Unit (DPU). The chipset will also integrate a Spectra 680 ISP for image processing.</p>
<p>Further, the Snapdragon 888 successor will also feature a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/02/09/qualcomm-next-gen-snapdragon-x65-5g-modem-10gbps-speeds/">Snapdragon X65 5G Modem-RF system</a>. The 5G modem was first announced in February this year and brings superior speed and support for up to 10Gbps speeds on both standalone and non-standalone 5G networks. The upcoming processor also brings a FastConnect 6900 chip that provides support for Bluetooth 5.2 and Wi-Fi 6E connectivity.</p>
<p>Qualcomm is expected to announce the Snapdragon 888 successor in the second half of the year.</p>
