Xiaomi has launched a new compact dishwasher in China, called the Mijia Smart Countertop Dishwasher 5-Set. The appliance is priced at 1,998 yuan ($298) on JD.com and is designed for smaller kitchens where installing a conventional built-in dishwasher may not be practical.

Mijia Countertop Dishwasher 5-Set Specifications

The unit is built specifically for countertop use, measuring 550 x 598 x 350mm and weighing 18.5kg. To keep the footprint manageable, Xiaomi opted for a magnetic folding door that limits the total depth to 600mm when fully opened.

Despite the relatively slim profile, it has a five-place setting capacity, which the company says is adequate for households of two to five people. The interior space can accommodate standard tableware alongside cookware, including frying pans up to 30cm in diameter and 24cm soup pots.

For washing, the dishwasher features a multi-directional spray system with four sets of spray arms and 34 water jets. The system delivers an outlet pressure of up to 30kPa to clean dishes from multiple angles. It also comes with an optical water-quality sensor that works with AI algorithms to detect the level of dirt within 10 seconds.

Based on the results, the dishwasher can automatically select a suitable washing program from its eight available modes. It also features an intelligent water-softening system that helps reduce limescale buildup and residue on dishes.

For sanitization, the dishwasher uses a high-temperature wash cycle that reaches up to 75°C. It also comes with a PTC hot-air drying system that delivers air at temperatures of up to 80°C to keep dishes dry after washing.

Xiaomi positions the dishwasher as a five-in-one appliance that can also double as a storage cabinet for clean dishes. It features a UV storage mode with active air circulation that helps keep tableware dry and fresh for up to 240 hours (10 days). The storage duration can be adjusted in 24-hour increments through the Mijia app.

The dishwasher meets China’s updated Level 1 water-efficiency standard. In Eco Wash mode, a single cycle uses 8 liters of water and 0.282kWh of electricity. As with most Xiaomi appliances, it integrates into the company’s smart home ecosystem. It supports HyperOS Connect, enabling remote control, cycle scheduling, and progress monitoring via the Mijia app, along with voice commands through compatible Xiaomi smart speakers.

In related news, Xiaomi has recently launched a compact 271L three-door refrigerator with an adjustable middle zone, alongside the Mijia Sterilizing Foot Bath 2 featuring a 99.9% sterilization rate and a three-section massage system.

Xiaomi just dropped a seriously spacious new dishwasher, and it’s aimed at people who are tired of running multiple loads every day.

The Mijia Smart Dishwasher Built-in 20-Set is now up for pre-order in China. It washes, dries, sterilizes, and can even keep clean dishes fresh for days, all in a fully recessed design that sits flush with your cabinets. It comes in two finishes: Starry Black and Ice Crystal White. There’s a little floor-projection light at the bottom that shows what the machine is doing, plus interior lights that come on when you open the door.

The big number here is capacity. The 156L cavity is rated for 20 place settings, which means it can handle around 144 pieces of tableware in one go. A BLDC inverter motor pushes water pressure up to 52,000 Pa, and the new dual-rotating satellite spray arms plus a triple-spray system are designed to reach the awkward spots.

Wash temperatures hit 75°C, and the drying cycle uses 115°C steam so everything comes out properly dry and sanitized. It also has a soil sensor that picks the right program automatically, and a one-touch quick-wash that finishes in about 70 minutes.

Hygiene is clearly a focus. It carries a seven-star sterilization rating with a claimed 99.99999% kill rate, plus a dedicated sterilization mode. After the cycle finishes, a 240-hour intelligent fresh-air system keeps circulating air inside so you can leave clean dishes in there for days.

You control everything through the Mi Home app or Xiaomi’s Smart Connect ecosystem. The racks are full-size top and bottom with dedicated wine-glass holders, so loading is pretty flexible.

This 20-set model sits above Xiaomi’s earlier 18-set built-ins. It’s bigger, meets the latest water-efficiency standard, and adds more sterilization and storage features.

Price and availability

Price is around 4,600 yuan (about $658), dropping to 3,999 yuan in areas that qualify for the national subsidy. Right now it’s only available in China via platforms like JD.com and Xiaomi Youpin. Xiaomi recently announced an expansion of its Mijia brand to Europe, and it will be interesting to see if this spacious dishwasher crosses borders as part of that expansion.

Xiaomi‘s Mijia P2 built-in dishwasher is finally hitting shelves on JD.com, priced at 5,999 yuan (around $830 USD). But consumers need to act fast – for the first 4 hours after launch on April 16th at 8:00 PM PST, interested customers can snag it for a discounted price of 5,499 yuan (around $760 USD).

The discounted price after launch will be 5499 Yuan, close to 760 USD

This versatile appliance is more than just a dishwasher – it’s a triple threat, functioning as a dishwasher, disinfection cabinet, and storage cabinet all in one. It boasts an intelligent washing program that automatically adjusts the amount of dishwashing liquid needed based on how dirty your dishes are. Plus, a single 450mL refill lasts for about 2 weeks.

Here’s where things get impressive: the Mijia P2 utilizes 75°C high-temperature hot water washing to eliminate 99.9999% of bacteria and viruses from your tableware. And to ensure long-lasting germ protection, it features a 3-pronged drying technology: 115°C high-temperature hot air drying, automatic door opening and closing for additional drying, and residual temperature drying. This combination allows for safe storage of your dishes for up to 7 days.

Cleaning power is another strong suit. The P2 is equipped with innovative vortex spray technology, featuring three-layer spray arms with five levels of water jets. This ensures deep cleaning that reaches even the trickiest corners and crevices of your dishes. In fact, it can handle a whopping 16 sets of standard dishes and chopsticks, which translates to a total of 116 pieces of tableware in one wash. The bowl basket is also adjustable, allowing you to customize the internal space to fit dishes of various sizes.

For maximum convenience, the Mijia P2 offers three wash mode options: upper wash, lower wash, and full cavity wash. But that’s not all – it also boasts an optical turbidity sensor and an AI intelligent algorithm. This fancy tech duo apparently “detects the degree of dirt every 2 seconds, automatically selects the best washing program, and intelligently adjusts washing time and water consumption” for optimal cleaning efficiency.

Speaking of intelligence, the dishwasher seamlessly integrates with Xiaomi’s Mijia app and voice assistant Xiaoai for smart control. You can even set 24-hour washing reservations and enjoy the benefits of OTA online upgrades to keep your appliance up-to-date. Alongside the dishwasher, the company also launched an Air Conditioner and a Health Pot at affordable prices. Xiaomi seems to be committed to putting out a variety of tech, from smartphones to cars and dishwashers.
