TECNO is clearly obsessed with ultra‑thin smartphones. We’ve already seen the POVA Slim and the SPARK Slim, and now the CAMON series finally gets its own Slim variant. But this one is fundamentally different from the previous two. Inside and out, it feels like TECNO’s definitive answer to what a slim phone should be. And we’re not kidding—this is easily the most refined TECNO handset we’ve ever laid hands on.

Unboxing

The CAMON Slim comes in a two‑layer box. You start by sliding off the outer sleeve, then lifting the lid to reveal the phone itself. We’ll get to the device in a moment, though, because all the accessories are tucked underneath. Most of them are fairly standard — a SIM ejector tool, a clear case, a 60W charger, and a USB cable. But there’s one item that stands out: the Side Port Sealing Stickers. And that’s something you don’t see every day.

You probably know that when applying a UV adhesive glass screen protector, the buttons and ports are the easiest places for glue to seep into and cause problems. These stickers are designed to seal them off before installation. Such a thoughtful little accessory.

Design & Build

As always, let’s start with its biggest selling point—the thickness. The CAMON Slim is only 6.39mm thick. Combined with the curved display, the frame visually narrows down to less than 4mm. Admittedly, it isn’t the thinnest smartphone in the world, but the first time you hold it, it’s still genuinely impressive.

Making a phone thin is just the foundation of the CAMON Slim. What really sets it apart from its two older brothers is the color design. The one I have here is the Jungle Green version, featuring a crystal-like texture with a beautiful gradient finish. It has plenty of personality without being overly flashy, and it’s easily my favorite color option.

If you prefer something bolder, there are also the New Mondrian and Van Gogh Blue versions. Just from their names and appearances, you can probably tell which masterpieces they pay tribute to.

Beyond the sleek design, the CAMON Slim proves it’s built to last. It boasts both IP68 and IP69 ratings for water and dust resistance, and has also passed U.S. military‑grade drop tests (MIL‑STD‑810H). Audio-wise, it doesn’t just settle for stereo speakers — it also supports Dolby Atmos for a more immersive listening experience.

There’s also an interesting feature hidden inside the camera module: 354 built-in Mini LEDs. Notifications, music playback, and charging can all trigger different lighting effects. Of course, you can also customize your own text or patterns, making it both practical and highly personalized. So if you’ve been looking for another phone with an LED matrix display, here’s a new option.

Display & Camera

The CAMON Slim features a 6.78-inch AMOLED display, with a 144Hz refresh rate. It also supports 2160Hz PWM dimming, making it more comfortable on your eyes during extended use. The bezels aren’t the absolute narrowest, but at least all four sides are evenly sized.

On the back, the CAMON Slim features a 50MP Sony LYT-600 main camera. The other lens that looks like a camera is actually a flicker sensor.

Although it’s a single-camera setup, the image quality from the main camera is quite good for its price. Photos are sharp, colors are accurate. Even when you zoom in to 2×, the image stays surprisingly sharp. It’s perfectly capable of handling everyday photography.

Performance & Battery

Under the hood, the CAMON Slim is powered by the MediaTek Helio G200 Ultimate — a capable entry‑level chipset that scores around 620,000 points on AnTuTu Lite. It’s not designed to handle graphically intensive games, and expecting it to do so would be a stretch. However, for everyday tasks like web browsing, social media scrolling, video streaming, and light casual gaming, it handles everything with ease — and for most users, that’s more than enough.

Performance isn’t really the issue here — the real drawback is that the Helio G200 Ultimate is a 4G‑only platform. While 5G only truly outshines 4G in download speeds, its absence still leaves a lingering sense of “what if” that’s hard to ignore.

On the software front, HiOS 16 — built on Android 16 — delivers a clean, fluid experience. TECNO is also promising five years of support, including three major Android OS upgrades, which is exceptionally generous for a phone at this price point.

The AI experience is surprisingly competitive, even outperforming some better‑known brands. Not only does the phone include almost every AI feature you’d expect from a modern Android device, but it also lets you freely switch between five major LLMs — with zero regional restrictions. TECNO’s openness here is genuinely impressive and way beyond what I anticipated.

For a phone this slim, fitting in a 5,600mAh battery is nothing short of impressive engineering. In daily use, the battery easily lasted me through a full day with plenty to spare. Charging is also well taken care of, with 60W speeds that are excellent by TECNO’s standards. The only compromise? There’s simply no room for wireless charging — but honestly, that’s a trade‑off most users will be happy to make given the slim profile.

Conclusion

The CAMON Slim is a phone with a crystal‑clear identity: slim, stylish, and built to last. It’s not without compromises — the 4G‑only chipset will be a dealbreaker for some, and the single‑camera setup feels almost unconventional for the CAMON lineage. But then again, this phone was never meant to be everything to everyone.

Its target audience is refreshingly specific: budget‑conscious users who want a phone that feels unobtrusive in daily life without being dull. At the end of the day, a smartphone is just a tool. And sometimes, the best tools are the ones you forget are even there.

Tecno has finally launched the Pova 8 Pro 5G in India. The smartphone focuses on practical hardware additions, specifically a larger-than-average battery, high water resistance ratings, and a secondary screen on the back panel.

A month after launching Pova 8, Tecno introduced its bigger sibling today. The Tecno Pova 8 Pro is official with a Dimensity chip, AMOLED display, and a 6500mAh battery, 

Under the hood, you’re getting the Dimensity 7400 Ultimate chip, paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Tecno has also thrown in a dedicated P1 graphics chip just for gaming; it pushes some titles up to 144fps; RPGs top out at 90fps, and FPS and MOBA games can hit 144fps too.

On the software side, you get HiOS 16 running on top of Android 16. Tecno is promising two major OS upgrades and three years of security patches. The company’s AI assistant Ella comes preloaded as well. 

As for the display, you’re looking at a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel with a 144Hz refresh rate, 4500 nits of brightness, and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection.

Tecno Pova 8 Pro has what it calls starship design

Around back, Tecno calls the design language “starship,” with a triangular camera module. It also has a Mini LED dot-matrix display, so you can customize what shows up there. Design & Build

On paper, the official weight is 225 grams – which doesn’t sound too bad, right? But consider this: the iPhone 17 Pro tips the scale at 240 grams, so this phone is only a hair lighter than that heavyweight. In hand, it feels solid and substantial – you definitely know it’s there. The body is 8.8mm thick, which isn’t exactly slim, but given the 8000mAh battery packed inside, I have to say TECNO’s engineers did a commendable job keeping it under control.

The retail box is well-stocked: you get a transparent silicone case, a 45W charger, a USB cable, and a SIM ejector tool – nothing missing. In an age where chargers are often sold separately, this is a welcome touch. The clear case is decent quality, and once it’s on, you can still clearly see the back design – which is where this phone gets really flashy.

The single most attention-grabbing element is undoubtedly the Alive Matrix dot‑matrix screen embedded in the rear camera module. What is it? It’s a tiny LED dot‑matrix panel at the bottom of the camera bump. Think of it as a miniature notification board – when a call comes in, it lights up with a custom pattern; while charging, it shows an animated progress bar; and incoming notifications trigger their own flashing effects. You can even DIY your own patterns and text – I tried a scrolling “HELLO” effect. It’s not exactly life-changing, but it sure drew some “wow” reactions when I showed it to friends.

That said, I did observe that the system dynamically drops the refresh rate to around 90Hz in certain scenarios – presumably to save power. Even with an 8000mAh battery, every drop counts, right?

Colour performance is where IPS LCD naturally falls short of AMOLED – blacks aren’t as deep, contrast is more modest, and dark‑mode content can look a bit washed out. On the plus side, there’s a feature I genuinely appreciate: wet‑touch support. After washing your hands or in rainy weather, the screen still responds accurately even with damp fingers – a small but genuinely useful detail.

One downside: there’s no 3.5mm headphone jack. I’ve mostly switched to Bluetooth earbuds, but every now and then, I miss the convenience of plugging in wired earphones.

Performance

The MediaTek Dimensity 7100 chipset isn’t a flagship killer, but it’s no slouch either. Built on a 6nm process with an 8‑core architecture, it handles daily tasks with ease – scrolling through Douyin (TikTok), browsing shopping apps, chatting on WeChat, or keeping a dozen browser tabs open – I rarely encountered any stutter. The 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage are generous for this price tier, and the microSD card slot (supporting up to 1TB) is a bonus for media hoarders.

We ran a quick test with Genshin Impact – and unsurprisingly, it’s not a gaming powerhouse. Maxed‑out graphics led to noticeable frame drops and rising temperatures. Simply put, the Dimensity 7100 is a capable mid‑range chip: fine for everyday use, playable for games, but don’t expect it to rival Snapdragon 8‑series flagships.

Battery Life

What does 8000mAh actually mean in real life?

I ran a dedicated test: starting at 8 AM with a full charge, I used the phone normally throughout the day – WeChat chats, about 1.5 hours of short‑video scrolling, 2 hours of YouTube, roughly 40 minutes of Honor of Kings, two dozen photos, and around 6 hours of screen‑on time total. By the following evening before bed, the battery still had 23% left.

The feeling is liberating – you no longer scramble for a charger before leaving home, no longer ask restaurant staff for a power bank, and no longer panic when the battery dips to 20%. This battery truly cured my charging anxiety.

TECNO claims the cell retains over 80% capacity after 2,000 charge cycles – roughly five to six years with a single daily charge. I can’t verify that right now, but it’s reassuring to hear.

Charging speeds: 45W wired fast charging takes about 35 minutes to go from 0 to 50%, and a full 0‑100% charge takes nearly 1.5 hours. Not the fastest out there, but given the sheer capacity, it’s acceptable. Additionally, it supports 30W wireless charging and 10W reverse wired charging – handy for topping up earbuds or a smartwatch in a pinch.

Camera

The main camera is a 50‑megapixel Sony LYT600 sensor with an f/1.8 aperture. In good daylight, it produces very pleasing shots – colours lean towards the vibrant side, making food and landscape photos pop, perfect for sharing straight to social media without editing. The 50MP resolution also gives you enough detail to crop in without losing too much clarity.

However, note that there’s no ultra‑wide lens on this phone. What looks like a third camera bump is actually the Alive Matrix dot‑matrix display – so for wide‑angle scenes, you’ll have to step back a few paces. The front‑facing camera is a 13‑megapixel wide‑angle lens; selfies are decent, and the beauty algorithm is fairly natural – TECNO has solid experience in this area.

Verdict

The TECNO POVA 8 5G is a phone that knows its audience and delivers where it matters most. Its massive 8,000mAh battery is the undisputed star — easily powering through two days of moderate use and outlasting most flagships by a comfortable margin, though the 225g weight is a predictable trade-off. The 6.76-inch 144Hz IPS display offers smooth scrolling and decent brightness, while the customizable Alive Matrix LED back panel adds a dose of personality rarely seen at this price point. Camera performance from the 50MP main sensor is serviceable in good light but struggles in low-light scenarios — if photography is your priority, look elsewhere. The Dimensity 7100 5G chip handles daily tasks and gaming without breaking a sweat, and TECNO’s two-year OS upgrade commitment adds long-term value. The POVA 8 5G isn’t trying to be a flagship killer — it’s a battery-first device with character, and for users who prioritize endurance over camera prowess, it’s an easy recommendation.

After introducing the Spark 50 last month, Tecno has now announced the new Spark 50 Pro with an iPhone-inspired design. What’s more interesting about this phone is that it has two battery options. 

The Tecno Spark 50 Pro is available with either a 5600mAh dual-cell battery or a larger 6000mAh single-cell battery. According to the company, both versions can retain more than 80% of their original battery capacity after six years of regular charging. The batteries are rated for over 1,900 charge cycles. 

The phone supports 60W charging, which refills the battery to 63% in 30 minutes, while a full charge takes about 55 minutes. The device also includes different charging modes that let users balance charging speed and heat management. 

Tecno Spark 50 Pro Specifications

Under the hood, the Spark 50 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Helio G100 Ultimate chipset, which Tecno says delivers an AnTuTu score of around 550,000. 

The front is home to a 6.78-inch display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The audio is handled by dual stereo speakers with DTS Sound. 

The photography experience includes a 50MP Sony LYTIA 600 main camera with a large 1/1.953-inch sensor. The smartphone also includes the company’s FlashSnap technology, which supports shutter speeds of up to 1/10,000 of a second for capturing moving subjects.

The camera system is backed by several AI-powered features, including AI Eraser 2.0, AI Extender, and Live Photo support. Tecno has also included its Universal Tone technology to produce more natural-looking skin tones in portrait photography.

The smartphone has a slim 7.8mm body but comes with SGS Five-Star Premium Drop Resistance certification. It is also rated IP68 and IP69 for dust and water resistance.

It goes without saying that the Pova 8 5G’s major highlight is the 8,000mAh battery, which supports 45W fast charging. Another highlight of the device is the rear-facing round-shaped Alive Matrix Display, which transforms the rear panel into an interactive visual interface. Rather than functioning as a simple lighting feature, it reacts in real time to music playback, notifications and user interactions. It also comes with support for around 30 widgets.

Additional features include IP64 dust and water resistance, MIL-STD-810H certification, a 14,689mm² cooling system, AI noise reduction and HiOS 16 based on Android 16.

The Pova 8 5G is available in 16 Bit White and Terminal Green color options. Pricing starts at Rs 29,999 for the 6GB + 128GB variant, while the 8GB + 128GB model is priced at Rs 31,999. The phone is scheduled to go on sale starting June 18 through Flipkart.

Tecno looks ready to add another model to its Camon lineup. A new device called the Tecno Camon Slim has now appeared across multiple certification platforms, including FCC filings and Tecno’s own Carlcare service database, revealing some early hardware details ahead of launch. The phone carries the model number CN6c and appears to come with 8GB RAM alongside either 128GB or 256GB storage depending on the version.

But the bigger talking point is probably the battery. According to the FCC listing, the Camon Slim uses a battery identified as BL-68DX with a typical capacity of 7000mAh and a rated capacity of 6840mAh. That’s unusually large for a phone that’s apparently being positioned around slimness and design. The same certification also confirms support for 60W wired charging through Tecno’s U600TSA power adapter.

At the same time, things get slightly more complicated depending on the region. A separate TÜV Rheinland certification mentions smaller battery variants rated at 5800mAh and 5430mAh for certain markets, including parts of Europe and Saudi Arabia. So Tecno may end up shipping different battery sizes depending on local regulations or design priorities.

FCC schematics also reveal part of the design. The rear camera setup appears to use a horizontal pill-shaped module with two camera sensors, somewhat similar to the look Tecno used on the Spark Slim. NFC support is also confirmed through the filing, alongside dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, LTE support, and likely 5G connectivity as well.

As for the rest of the hardware, earlier leaks suggest the phone could use MediaTek’s Dimensity 7100 chip paired with a 6.78-inch AMOLED display and Android 16 running underneath HiOS 16.

At this point, pricing and launch timing still haven’t been officially revealed. But with FCC and TÜV certifications already in place, the announcement probably isn’t too far away now. And honestly, if Tecno really manages to fit a 7000mAh battery into a genuinely slim chassis, that alone could end up being the phone’s biggest selling point.

TECNO has launched the TECNO POP X 5G in India, adding a new option in the budget 5G segment. The phone focuses on battery life, durability, and connectivity, with a few features aimed at areas with weak or no network coverage. Notably, the brand had also released a 4G variant with the same name in India just last month.

The device is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 processor built on a 6nm process. It includes two Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.5GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores at 2GHz, along with a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. It comes in 4GB and 6GB LPDDR4x RAM options, both paired with 128GB UFS 2.2 storage. Storage can be expanded up to 2TB using a microSD card. The phone runs Android 16 with HiOS 16 on top.

Up front, the POP X 5G has a 6.78-inch HD+ display with a resolution of 720 x 1576 pixels. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz touch sampling rate, with brightness going up to 560 nits. The rear camera is a 13MP unit with an LED flash, while the front camera is 8MP with an f/2.0 aperture.

Battery is a key highlight here. The phone packs a 6500mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging. It measures 167.9 x 79.3 x 8.18mm and weighs 210g. The build includes a 6-series aluminum camera module, and the device is drop tested. It also comes with an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance. Other hardware features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The Tecno Camon 50 Ultra 5G uses a triple rear camera system designed to handle different shooting situations.

The main camera uses a 50 MP sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and a 23 mm wide lens. It has a 1/1.56-inch sensor, 1.0µm pixel size, phase detection autofocus, and optical image stabilization (OIS).

The phone achieved a photo score of 154. In testing, the main camera delivered stable exposure and natural colors in most conditions. Skin tones were rendered accurately across different skin types. Images showed good detail and controlled noise in bright light, indoor lighting, and moderately low light.

Autofocus was fast and accurate. The camera was able to lock focus quickly when capturing both still and moving subjects. Group photos also benefited from extended depth with AI face detail enhancement that kept faces clear across the frame.

Some issues were still visible in testing. Exposure shifts affecting brightness and contrast appeared in certain scenes. White balance changes were also noticeable in some cases. Testers also observed artifacts such as fusion artifacts and occasional face rendering issues in both main and telephoto photos.

Low light and portrait

In low-light scenes, the camera maintained good detail with limited noise. Faces usually appeared bright and well rendered, though they could sometimes appear slightly brighter than the background. Exposure and white balance could shift in challenging lighting.

Portrait mode produced natural skin tones and reliable background separation. Depth mapping was usually accurate, although small depth errors could appear around the subject.

Zoom and video

The telephoto camera delivered consistent results with the main camera in both photo and video capture. Images retained good detail and low noise. The ultra-wide camera showed lower quality, with softer images and more visible noise compared with the other cameras. Zoom performance received a score of 125.

Video achieved a score of 132. Video clips showed good detail and controlled noise. Autofocus remained stable, although exposure shifts were sometimes visible during recording.

Overall, the Tecno Camon 50 Ultra 5G delivers strong camera performance for its price segment, especially with its main and telephoto cameras.

TECNO has quietly launched the CAMON 50 Ultra 5G, expanding the CAMON 50 series after several teasers. The phone focuses on mobile photography, AI features, and durability, offering high-resolution camera sensors, AI imaging tools, and a rugged design.

Hardware & software

The CAMON 50 Ultra 5G runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultimate processor. The chipset is built on a 4-nanometer process and is designed to provide balanced performance and power efficiency.

The device features a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution. The screen supports refresh rates up to 144Hz, which improves smoothness when scrolling and switching between apps. TECNO also includes ProXDR eye-care technology to reduce eye strain during long viewing sessions. Power comes from a 6500mAh battery. The phone supports 45W fast charging, allowing users to recharge the large battery quickly.

The device is 11.49mm thick when folded and 3.49mm thick when unfolded. It uses 2,000 MPa ultra-high-strength steel for the hinge and ultra-strong Titan Fiber for the back cover, which is just 0.3mm thick.

OneLeap supports three-device collaboration across smartphones, tablets, and PCs at the same time. Trusted devices reconnect automatically. With Keyboard and Mouse Sharing, users can control three screens using one keyboard and mouse. A unified clipboard allows instant sharing of text and files. Images copied on a smartphone can be pasted directly into documents on a tablet or laptop. These tools are built to improve workflow across multiple screens.

The platform also offers flexible display options. A smartphone can mirror to a laptop, while a tablet works as an extended PC display. This enables a three-screen setup. In Phone Widescreen Extension mode, optimized for tablet screen ratios, smartphone and tablet activities stay independent so users can multitask without interruption.

OneLeap also supports real-time, face-to-face translation in more than 160 languages when paired with TECNO audio devices. Translated speech plays through earbuds instantly, and transcripts are saved on the phone for later reference.

The MEGAPAD 2 features an 11-inch 2.5K display with a 90Hz refresh rate and TÜV Low Blue Light certification. It has a 6.6mm ultra-slim body and runs on HiOS. AI Problem Solving supports independent learning and allows parents to guide children. AI Translation works in up to 140 languages across images, calls, videos, and meetings. AI document summary and writing refinement tools support light study and everyday tasks. Through OneLeap, it supports file sharing and PC screen extension.

The Watch GT 1S includes dual-band L1 and L5 high-precision GPS and motion sensors for stable tracking in urban and remote areas. It monitors heart rate, blood oxygen, stress, and sleep. The battery lasts up to 15 days. It has 5ATM water resistance. AI watch faces can be created using image-to-image or text-to-image customization.

The FreeHear 2 weighs 5.4g per earbud and uses a C-bridge clip design for a secure and natural fit. It features a 10.8mm dual-magnetic dynamic driver for spatial audio. Total battery life reaches up to 46 hours. A five-minute charge provides more than one hour of playback.

They both use the same processor, battery size, display specs, and much of the same camera hardware. However, the Pro model adds a dedicated 3x periscope telephoto camera. Here are the full specs. 

Tecno Camon 50 and Camon 50 Pro Specifications

Both the Tecno Camon 50 and the Tecno Camon 50 Pro run on MediaTek’s Helio G200 processor paired with 8GB of RAM. As for the storage, the Pro model has 256GB, while the standard version starts at 128GB. 

Powering both devices is a large 6,150mAh battery that supports 45W wired charging.

On the front, both phones feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and Full HD+ resolution. The screens also include an in-display fingerprint scanner and a 32-megapixel selfie camera. 

The difference here is mostly aesthetic—the Pro model uses a curved panel, while the standard Camon 50 sticks with a flat display.

Around the back, both devices share the same 50-megapixel Sony LYT700C main sensor — the same camera used on last year’s Tecno Camon 40 Pro — alongside an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens. The Camon 50 Pro, however, adds a 50-megapixel 3x periscope telephoto camera with optical image stabilization (OIS).

Software-wise, both phones ship with TECNO’s HiOS 16 and come with an IP68/69/69K rating for dust and water resistance. Tecno is also including a One-Tap AI Key and stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support.

In Kenya, the Camon 50 is priced at KES 37,500 (around $290), while the Camon 50 Pro comes in at KES 44,000 (around $340). Both devices are currently available for pre-order. Tecno hasn’t announced 5G versions yet, but with MWC 2026 on the horizon, those models could be next in line.

So, when I started using the Tecno Spark Go 3 as a daily phone, I was not looking for excitement. The goal was simple. Could a phone priced at Rs 8,999 handle everyday tasks without constantly reminding you of its limitations?

After spending time with it for calls, WhatsApp, YouTube, music streaming, and light photography, the Spark Go 3 turned out to be more usable than I expected, especially for users upgrading from older budget smartphones.

Practical design meant for daily handling

Despite the large display, the phone does not feel bulky. At 182.6g and just over 8mm thick, it is comfortable to hold for long calls or extended browsing sessions. The curved edges help with grip, and the overall build feels solid.

Tecno’s choice of colours adds a bit of personality without looking overdone. I have the black variant, and the retail package includes a textured back cover rather than a flimsy transparent one. The IP64 rating and drop-resistant build add peace of mind, especially for users who tend to be rough with their phones.

A large display that feels smoother than expected

The Spark Go 3 comes with a 6.74-inch display, which is genuinely large for this segment. What stands out is the 120Hz refresh rate. This is still uncommon in entry-level phones, and it makes a noticeable difference during daily use. Scrolling through apps, swiping between screens, and navigating menus feels smoother than what most users would expect from a phone priced under Rs 9,000. The HD+ resolution keeps expectations realistic, but for most users, smoothness matters more than pixel density.

Outdoor visibility is also decent, thanks to the high brightness mode, making the phone usable under direct sunlight.

The good old 3.5mm audio jack has been retained, which will be appreciated by users who still prefer wired earphones. It is also worth noting that while the previous generation offered dual speakers, the Spark Go 3 comes with a single speaker. The output is decent for calls, videos, and casual music listening, even if it does not offer stereo separation.

Decent cameras

The 13-megapixel rear camera is straightforward and predictable. In good lighting, photos come out with acceptable detail and natural colours. The camera app is easy to use, and features like AI Flash Snap help in low-light situations, although expectations should remain realistic.

The 8MP front camera handles video calls and selfies reliably, making it suitable for online classes, work calls, and everyday social media use.

This is not a camera phone, but it delivers consistent results for basic photography needs.

Performance that stays stable for everyday tasks

Powering the Spark Go 3 is the Unisoc T7250 processor, paired with 4GB RAM and an additional 4GB virtual RAM through memory fusion. On paper, this setup is modest, but in daily use, it holds up well.

Core apps like WhatsApp, YouTube, music streaming platforms, and web browsers run smoothly. Light multitasking does not feel frustrating, and the phone manages casual games without major hiccups. For users moving up from older entry-level phones, the difference in responsiveness will be noticeable.

Storage expansion is also supported via a microSD card slot, which is useful for users who rely heavily on offline media, photos, or videos.

Tecno’s claim of long-term lag-free performance will need time to be proven, but initial usage suggests the software has been optimized reasonably well.

The 5,000mAh battery is one of the Spark Go 3’s strongest points. With moderate use, including calls, messaging, video streaming, and music playback, the phone comfortably lasts a full day and often stretches into the next.

The phone supports 15W fast charging, but a 10W charger is provided in the box, which is in line with expectations at this price.

Software experience with useful AI touches

Running HiOS 15 based on Android 15, the software experience feels feature-rich for the segment. Tecno has focused on practical AI features rather than flashy additions. AI noise reduction improves call clarity, AI song identification works reliably, and Ella AI supports Indian languages, which adds real value for local users.

Ella works as a voice assistant for basic tasks such as setting reminders, checking information, opening apps, and handling simple voice commands, making it particularly useful for first-time smartphone users and those more comfortable interacting in regional languages rather than typing.

Another welcome inclusion is the infrared sensor, allowing the phone to function as a remote control for compatible appliances. This is a feature many users still find genuinely useful.

Tecno also includes its FreeLink feature, which enables device-to-device communication without mobile network coverage. I could not test this feature as it works only between supported Tecno smartphones, but it can be handy in areas with poor network connectivity or during emergencies.

Who is the Tecno Spark Go 3 meant for?

At Rs 8,999, the Tecno Spark Go 3 is clearly aimed at first-time smartphone users, students, parents, and anyone looking for a dependable secondary phone. It is not designed for power users or heavy gaming, and it does not try to be.

Instead, it focuses on delivering a smooth display, reliable battery life, stable everyday performance, and practical features that make daily usage easier. For its price, that combination makes the Spark Go 3 a sensible and well-rounded option in the entry-level segment.

We had reviewed the Pova Curve and were impressed by its design. Hopefully, the successor edition will continue to stand out in this department. Rumours surrounding it have also suggested that it will have strong specifications onboard.

The phone also features the ARM Mali G57 GPU for graphics. It is worth mentioning that this processor does not support 5G connectivity, but offers 4G LTE.

The listing mentions an HD+ display with a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels and a pixel density of 280 DPI. This confirms that the Pop 10 will focus on basic performance and display quality suitable for daily use. Since the model name is already visible on the Play Console, it is likely that Tecno will announce the phone officially very soon.

Its predecessor, the Pop 9 4G launched last year with a 6.67-inch HD+ LCD display offering a 90Hz refresh rate. Despite packing an ultra-thin body, the device houses a 5160mAh battery that supports 45W wired fast charging and 10W reverse wired charging. After teasing its ultra-thin concept phone earlier this year, Tecno has officially launched the Tecno Spark Slim and Tecno Pova Slim. Both devices keep the spotlight on thinness, while still packing in surprisingly powerful hardware.

The Spark Slim measures just 5.75mm, nearly identical to the concept version shown off months ago. Inside that frame, Tecno managed to squeeze in a 5,160mAh battery, made possible by its custom Honeycomb space stacking technology. 

The battery itself is just 4.04mm thick, while the phone also has a razor-thin 0.3mm vapor chamber that helps keep thermals under control. To top it off, both phones use an aerospace-grade fiberglass back measuring only 0.36mm.

On the outside, the Spark Slim also gets a unique touch: a Mood Light LED bar that brings multi-scene lighting effects and animated notifications. Both phones share a 50MP main rear camera, but Tecno seems to be betting more on design and display than on a heavy camera system.

Speaking of display, both the Spark Slim and Pova Slim come with curved AMOLED screens, offering a smooth 144Hz refresh rate and an impressive 4,500 nits peak brightness. Under the hood, the Spark Slim runs on MediaTek’s Helio G200, while the Pova Slim is powered by the Dimensity 6400, giving it 5G support out of the box.

The phone supports 45W wired charging and 10W reverse wired charging, and boots on Android 15 (HiOS skin), complete with Tecno’s latest AI-powered features.

The company has not revealed the price or availability details yet. Tecno has an event scheduled for September 4 for this.
