The CEO of Apple, Tim Cook, has just recently met with China’s new premiere Li Qiang and other top officials. The senior official of the company made a trip to the Asian country earlier this week to reaffirm the brand’s commitment to the Chinese market.

Tim Cook met with Li on Monday as a part of a delegation of C-level executives and scholars from overseas. Cook was attending the China Development Forum (CDF) event in Beijing. This marked the first time that Tim Cook had made a trip to China since the pandemic had impacted the globe. With this meet, the executive basically wanted to reaffirm the Cupertino based giant’s commitment to the market amid supply chain changes and even geopolitical uncertainties.

To put things simply, Apple is reassuring commitment to the world’s largest smartphone market. The current global economy is facing various complications and issues that have affected various brands operating in the region. But despite all this, Li Qiang has assured that the representatives from China will continue to open up and provide a robust business environment despite the changing geopolitical landscape.

Tim Cook also met with China’s Minister of Commerce, Wang Wentao. According to a statement by the ministry, this meeting had discussions regarding “Apple’s development in China and the stabilization of the industry supply chain.” Interestingly, this moves arrives after Apple saw a number of issues with iPhone production due to the viral outbreak, which caused some of its major suppliers to halt manufacturing and assembly.
