One of the most popular names in the game is LineageOS, mainly because of its stability and extensive device support. The custom ROM hit version 18.1 (based on Android 11) last year with support for over 60 devices and has been expanding its roster ever since.

The latest additions to the officially supported LineageOS 18.1 devices list include the following, and you can download their respective latest builds by clicking on their codenames (via Android Police).

While the OnePlus 9 has already received OxygenOS 12 based on Android 12, the update hasn’t gone down well with everyone since it’s based on ColorOS. LineageOS 18.1 will thus serve as a great replacement.

Both Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite and Mi 10 Lite 5G currently run Android 11 layered with MIUI atop. The heavily-skinned software has always been a hit or miss with users, and those looking for something lighter would love LineageOS 18.1.

The Asus ZenFone Max M1 no longer receives updates and is still stuck on Android 9 following a failed Android 10 beta program. It already has extensive custom ROM developer support and it’s great to see another gem added to its roster.

Additionally, Asus ROG Phone 2 and ZenFone 6 have been dropped from LineageOS support, meaning the duo will no longer be receiving new official builds.

Not only is the brand the numberone in the smartphone and TV segment in India, it is also one of the leading brand in China. A recent research shows that the company is also the leading name in the second-hand smartphone market in China. The Chinese tech giant has again added another feature to its cap with an impress run in India’s premium smartphone market.

The company recently amplified this information but the research which revealed the progress in this segment was carried out by market research firm Counterpoint. The stats is contained in Counterpoint’s May 2021 market tracker. According to the report, Xiaomi cornered about 14% share of the market in the 20K-45K category. This places the company in a good pedestal as one of the leading and fastest-growing premium smartphone brands.

Xiaomi’s drive to enter into the premium phone segment, began with the Mi 10 series. The drive was continued with the latest crop of premium smartphones such as Mi 10i, Mi 11X, and Mi 11X Pro which have been released in India. It should be noted that the brand went from just 3% market share in the premium segment as at October 2020 to ~14% in May 2021, representing a massive growth.

The growth of Mi India in the premium segment is a reflection of th econfidentce that the brand commands presently, which in turn is the product of the brand’s assiduous effort in churning out cost-effective and drable products.

Xiaomi Mi Store India

Xiaomi India’s head, Manu Kumar Jain, commenting on the success of the Mi smartphones in the premium segment stated that; “With Mi, we have focused on bringing breakthrough technologies and setting newer benchmarks for mobile innovation. With the launch of the Mi 10 and Mi 11 series in the market, we have empowered our users with a premium experience, on the back of superior design, best in class features and functionality. It is because of the trust of our consumers and Mi Fans that we have been able to reduce the gap with one of the leading premium smartphone brands. While these are early growth numbers, we are overwhelmed to see consumers upgrading to premium devices under the Mi portfolio. As we continue to grow in the market, we will look at bringing more powerful devices, and work towards making Mi a premium aspirational brand in India.”

The company’s drive in the premium segment this year began with the Mi 10i which emerged as the brand’s best-selling 5G device under 25K. The Mi 11X series was also released, registering business worth INR 300 crore in just 45 days of launch. To further ramp its share in this segment, Xiaomi will be releasing the Mi 11 Ultra flagship in India today. The premium smartphone will be available exclusively on Mi.com and Mi Homes.

If you need the mid-ranger with the highest value for money, there are very high chances that you should opt for one of these two brands. In the midrange segment, Realme came up with the Narzo 30 Pro 5G delivering amazing specifications under every aspect, despite its affordable price tag. Its direct rival is the Xiaomi Mi 10i which has a lot in common with the Realme Narzo 30 Pro 5G and is sold in the same price range. This specs comparison will try to tell you which is the best between these two 5G best-buys.

Design

Do you prefer a modern look or premium materials? With the Realme Narzo 30 Pro 5G, you get a more modern design, as well as a more compact body. But the Xiaomi Mi 10i has more premium materials as it comes with a glass back instead of the classic polycarbonate which is often found on affordable phones including Realme Narzo 30 Pro 5G. I like the Realme Narzo 30 Pro 5G because its camera module is less invasive; further, it is a lighter phone. Both the handsets feature a side-mounted fingerprint reader and a pretty thick body due to their big batteries.

Display

Realme Narzo 30 Pro 5G and Xiaomi Mi 10i 5G are equipped with IPS panels: they are not bad panels, but they are far from the AMOLED displays you can find in the midrange segment in terms of image quality. The Xiaomi Mi 10i 5G is slightly more interesting because it has the HDR10 certification providing a richer image quality, especially on streaming platforms. Realme Narzo 30 Pro 5G and Xiaomi Mi 10i 5G have a 120 Hz refresh rate (very good for gamers since they got a smoother viewing experience and more reactivity) and a Full HD+ resolution. The Realme Narzo 30 Pro 5G has a slightly higher typical brightness. Note that Xiaomi Mi 10i 5G has stereo speakers, while Realme Narzo 30 Pro 5G has mono speakers.

Specs & Software

Realme Narzo 30 Pro 5G and Xiaomi Mi 10i 5G are more or less at the same level if we talk about the hardware department. The Snapdragon 750G found on the Xiaomi Mi 10i is slightly more powerful than the Dimensity 800U of the Realme Narzo 30 Pro 5G, but the latter is built with a better 7 nm production process and it should guarantee a lower energy consumption. The memory configurations are the same: 6 or 8 GB of RAM and 64 or 128 GB of native storage which you can furtherly expand through a micro SD slot, but the Xiaomi Mi 10i 5G has faster UFS 2.2 storage instead of UFS 2.1. Unfortunately, both the phones run Android 10 out of the box despite they were released in 2021.

Camera

Xiaomi Mi 10i 5G is a superior camera phone because it has a better main camera: we are talking about a great 108 MP main sensor which is still a midrange camera despite its resolution, but it is way better than the 48 MP camera found on the Realme Narzo 30 Pro 5G. It also has an additional 2 MP sensor for depth calculation. These handsets can record videos with a resolution up to 4K and they are equipped with a 16 MP front camera for selfies.

Battery

Realme Narzo 30 Pro 5G has a bigger 5000 mAh battery and, given that its processor is built with a 7 nm production process, it lasts more on a single charge in a lot of scenarios. With the Xiaomi Mi 10i 5G, you get faster charging but a smaller battery.

Price

Realme Narzo 30 Pro 5G is priced at Rs. 16,300 / $220 in India, while Xiaomi Mi 10i 5G starts from Rs. 21,999 / $295. The Xiaomi Mi 10i 5G is a superior phone because it has stereo speakers and better cameras, but with the Realme Narzo 30 Pro 5G, you can get a higher value for money without facing a lot of compromises.

Design

The most attractive design is offered by the Samsung Galaxy F62, in my honest opinion. The phone has a less invasive camera module with the same color as the rear cover. But unlike the Xiaomi Mi 10i 5G, it does not come with a glass back. The Gorilla Glass 5 rear side of the Xiaomi Mi 10i provides a more premium feel. Further, the Xiaomi Mi 10i 5G is a thinner phone. None of these devices has a premium design, unlike flagship phones, but they are not disappointing in terms of aesthetics.

Display

The Samsung Galaxy F62 and the Galaxy M52 have the same display: a 6.7-inch panel with the Super AMOLED Plus technology and a Full HD+ resolution. It is actually a better display than Xiaomi Mi 10i 5G and it has an in-display fingerprint scanner. On the other hand, the Xiaomi Mi 10i 5G provides a higher 120 Hz refresh rate which is great for gamers and it has the HDR10 certification for better image quality on streaming services.

Specs & Software

If you need the best performance, then you should go for the Samsung Galaxy F62. Despite not being powered by a Qualcomm chipset, it has a more powerful SoC: the Exynos 9825. But unfortunately, you do not get 5G connectivity with the Galaxy F62. If you want 5G, you must choose the Xiaomi Mi 10i equipped with a Snapdragon 750G SoC, up to 8 GB of RAM, and UFS 2.2 native storage. The Xiaomi Mi 10i 5G is actually more powerful than the Galaxy M51.

Camera

The Xiaomi Mi 10i 5G has the best main camera: a 108 MP sensor with an f/1.8 focal aperture. The Samsung Galaxy F62 and Galaxy M52 feature better secondary sensors (ultrawide, macro, and depth) and they have the same camera departments. They also come with better selfie cameras.

Battery

Samsung Galaxy F62 and Galaxy M51 pack the same huge 7000 mAh battery, and the battery life should be similar. The Xiaomi Mi 10i 5G has a smaller battery and a shorter battery life, but it charges faster.

Price

The starting prices of the Samsung Galaxy F62 and Samsung Galaxy M51 are €270/$320 and €320/$379. The Xiaomi Mi 10i 5G starts from just €250/$296. If we consider the whole specs sheets, Samsung Galaxy F62 is the best one especially due to its powerful chipset. Xiaomi Mi 10i 5G has a better camera and 5G, but a smaller battery and an inferior display to both its rivals.
