Zeaplus has been known for its affordable smartwatches and some other smartphone accessories for some time. We have already reviewed a few of them and the impressions are that the company can definitely offer a great bang for the buck for some its products.

Still, the Zeaplus M7 is their entry into the smartphone market and we can’t wait to see if their product is worth your attention or not. At the first glance, it has a plain looking but decent design but more importantly it carries a great list of specs for the price of $169.

Full list of specs

Zeaplus M7 Review: UNBOXING

NOTHING OUT OF ORDINARY, USUAL STUFF YOU WOULD EXPECT TO GET WITH A BUDGET SMARTPHONE

A quite typical packaging for nowadays budget devices – a plain cardboard box most likely made out of recycled materials.

The contents include a screen protector, USB charging brick, USB cable and instruction manuals. I can’t say that the accessories scream high quality, but they don’t look like they going to brake after a month either.

Zeaplus M7 Review: DESIGN and DISPLAY

A decent 5.5″ display. the overall design is plain looking and has one minor flaw

First of all, Zeaplus M7 is not a small device as it spots a 5.5″ 1080p display, which is actually quite good. It is a bright and vivid LCD panel and it looks good both indoors and outdoors. In addition, the screen has a slight curve on each side to provide a 2.5D glass effect.

On the top of the device there is a 5MP front facing camera, earpiece and a proximity sensor. One more thing that is a actually a welcome feature is the front facing LED flash for those night selfie lovers.

The back is made out of textured plastic material. On the top side there is a 13MP Sony camera with a single LED flash. Just below the snapper there is a finger print scanner. The placement seemed weird at the beginning but right now I think it is pretty good since the phone has quite a huge footprint so it is easy to reach it with your index finger.

On the left you can find a volume rocker and on the right side there is a power key. Both buttons have a great tactile feedback.

On the top side there is a micro USB charging port along with the headset jack and on the bottom there is a mic.

The back plate is removable and under the hood you can find two SIM card slots (one regular size and another microSIM card size), microSD card slot up to 64GB and a removable 3800Ah battery.

Overall the design is kind of plain looking and it would not attract the attention of many people. On the other hand, this device was not build with a design in mind.

The glass front and the metal sides along with the metal buttons of the device feel high quality but the back plate is ruining a lot of things here. Firstly, the textured plastic feels a bit cheap but the biggest complaint is that it is making some wobbling noises when pressed meaning that it does not sit tight enough. I was told that it may be only my review unit but this is my experience.

Zeaplus M7 Review: UI

almost stock looking ui, which is built on top of android 5.0. it works fine most of the time

The Zeaplus M7 runs almost stock looking Android 5.0 Lolipop. Overall, all the apps are opening and closing fast, scrolling through menus is also usually fast but sometimes I encountered with some lags there and there when there were many apps running in the background. All in all, it seems that the UI still needs some polishing to become completely lag-free.

1 of 9

There are some features we have already seen on many Chinese devices like gesture controls and pulsing notification light. I’ve tested them all and they work fine most of the times. In addition, there are many languages installed, so international users should feel like at home when using a device.

Zeaplus M7 Review: BENCHMARKS

a respectable performer. if you care about synthetic benchmarks…

The Zeaplus M7 is not a killer benchmark performer on Antutu but it is no slouch either. It managed to score a respectable 41k+ score, which is on par with the last year’s flagship devices. Considering that this device costs below $170, the score is pretty good.

1 of 5

The device scores 783 at single-core benchmark and 3033 at multi-core.

Zeaplus M7 Review: PERFORMANCE

a lot of sheer power that needs some more software OPTIMISATION

As usual, I don’t care about benchmarks and I strongly believe that a real life performance is a much more important factor to look at. To support that I’ve tested the Zeaplus smartphone with a few graphically intensive games like Asphalt 8 and Nova 3. The performance is not bad but not perfect either. The graphics look okay but the are some skipped frames and even little lags at some points. Nothing to be a deal breaker as you can still enjoy 3D games but I’ve seen some better performing devices at his price point.

Zeaplus M7 Review: MULTIMEDIA

OVERALl, MULTIMEDIA CONSUMPTION EXPERIENCE IS GREAT BUT YOU MAY WANT TO DOWNLOAD A THIRD PARTY VIDEO AND MUSIC PLAYER APPS TO HAVE MORE FUNCTIONALITY

Multimedia consumption is great overall. Firstly, the stock music player is easy to use but more importantly the loudspeaker is not bad at all for the price of this device. Being a bloody picky I would add a bit more depth to the sound quality but overall I am more than glad to listen to music via loudspeaker. In addition, it does not get muffled that easily with your fingers.

Other multimedia options like 1080p video works just fine. As usual, I suggest you downloading a third party video player to get some more functionality though. As far as Internet browsing experience, I have no complaints.

Zeaplus M7 Review: CAMERA

Camera application is a stock Mediatek app with some basic settings and a few shooting modes to play with. The camera is able to take max. 13MP pictures and shoot 1080p videos.

Zeaplus M7 Review: IMAGE QUALITY

A DECENT PERFORMER IN THE DAYLIGHT BUT COULD IMPROVE IN THE LOW LIGHT. ALSO, YOU CAN’T WIN THE SELFIE GAME WITH ITS 5MP FRONT CAMERA

The night shots have much more noise, the level of details is significantly lower. Also, the camera software does not brighten up the pictures as some other devices do. Finally, the shutter speed is much slower and you have to keep your hand steady to avoid blurriness.

Zeaplus M7 Review: CONNECTIVITY

all the connectivity options work fine

I have no major complaints about any of connectivity options. Call quality is not the best but good enough. In addition, I had normal 4G speeds on this device. Also, Wifi, Bluetooth and GPS work just fine.

Zeaplus M7 Review: BATTERY LIFE

good but not great

The 3800mAh battery sounds promising on paper but it could be better in real life. Well, it is not bad as it may get you through the day on average use or even heavy use if you won’t be playing games.

UPDATE: THE BATTERY SEEMS TO BE WORKING BETTER AFTER FULL 5TH CHARGE/DISCHARGE CYCLE. THE ZEAPLUS M7 CAN ACHIEVE MORE THAN 5 HOURS SCREEN-ON TIME WITH AUTOMATIC-BRIGHTNESS SETUP.PLEASE SEE THE GEEKBENCH RESULTS BELOW (test was completed using auto-brightness setting and dim display feature disabled on the benchmark app).

Zeaplus M7 Review: CONCLUSIONS

another budget phablet/finger print scanner combo from china. a decent device that does most of the things right but can still unleash some more power with a better OPTIMISED software

The Zeaplus M7 is a decent but not perfect device. Firstly, the overall design is just plain looking but the back cover could be definitely better. The thing that it is making some wobbling noises when pressed can be irritating for some. Well, I was told that it does not happen on all units. Anyway, it is not that bad and it is far from the deal breaker.

Zeaplus M7 Review: DESIGN AND FIRST IMPRESSIONS

First of all, Zeaplus M7 is not a small device as it spots a 5.5″ 1080p display, which is actually quite good. It is a bright and vivid LCD panel and it looks good both indoors and outdoors.

A metal frame gives a little bit of a premium look and feel but the whole device is made out of plastic and it does feel expensive to be honest. Well, it is not expensive device after all but what I’ve noticed is that the textured plastic back is wobbling a bit and I’m not a huge fan of it.

Honestly, I’ve been using a device for 4 days already but was on vacation. Still, I used this device as a daily driver and so far the overall performance has been okay with no major issues. I have browsed a lot of web and Facebook, took tens of pictures and shot some videos, made some calls etc.

A full detailed review (VIDEO + ARTICLE) is in the making as I’m quite busy at the moment (have 8 devices to review!). Stay tuned to Gizmochina to watch the video/read a review first. Also, a lot of more very hot reviews, comparisons and camera shootouts are coming!

The post Zeaplus M7 Flash Sale Starts Very Soon! Grab The Flagship For Just $149 appeared first on Gizmochina.

If you have been following our website, you would have come across a number of posts about the upcoming Zeaplus M7 flagship smartphone. The device came with impressive specs and a simple yet beautiful design which makes it an attractive offering. The company has priced the device at just $199, but during the flash sale, which is on June 18, you can purchase the device for just $149! You can check out more details about the sale from our previous article.

We were lucky enough to get our hands on this flagship device. So, here’s our initial impression of this MT6752 powered smartphone.

From the design point of view, the Zeaplus M7 is worthy of its flagship title. The device is well built and you won’t find any loose parts, unlike other cheap chinese handsets. The phone feels solid and even the buttons are tactile and responsive.

1 of 5

On top of the phone lies the USB as well as the headphone jack. The power button is on the right and the volume control keys on the left. There’s nothing at the bottom. Coming to the back, its made of plastic but its not that slippery and provides good grip. There’s a camera unit on top of the rear cover and below it you will find the fingerprint sensor. At the bottom of the cover, there’s the Zeaplus logo.

We had the time to try out a few features, and naturally, we started off with the fingerprint sensor at the back. You can save up to five different fingerprints for unlocking the device. Saving can take around 10-15  seconds, but unlocking the device is pretty fast. The accuracy of the sensor was also good.

The Zeaplus M7 comes with Android 5.0 Lollipop version right out of the box. The phone had Google apps preinstalled and the UI was stock Android, which we always prefer.

As for the camera, our initial impression was quite good. The photos came out clear and bright. Even when zoomed it, the photo maintained a great level of detail, which is quite good for an affordable flagship. We couldn’t test out the night camera performance, but we will cover that in our review soon.

We also had the time to try out a few covers for the device. You can get a flip leather cover for the smartphone which looks pretty good. It looks similar to the LG G3 Circle cover and when its closed, the clock app will light up in the opening up front.

You can also get a regular skin case for the device, made from soft TPU material.

Overall, it looks like Zeaplus has delivered on its promise with the new Zeaplus M7 flagship. It looks solid, performs very well (gaming was smooth and lag free) and the fingerprint sensor is definitely an added advantage.

You can bag this beast at just $149 on the flash sale day, i.e. June 18, which makes it a killer deal at this price. Also, check out the Zeaplus website for more details.

The post Hands On With The Zeaplus M7 Flagship appeared first on Gizmochina.

We have already seen the specifications of the Zeaplus M7 flagship and it turned out to be pretty impressive. The company was offering the device under $200 which made it all the more attractive.

However, in order to promote the launch of the Zeaplus M7, the company will be keeping a flash sale on June 18, which is the day the phone will be available for purchase for a limited period. On 18th, the company will give away a few discount codes for buying the handset at just $149! Yes, in the initial flash sale period, the company will be giving users a hefty discount of over $50.

The company will release these discount codes on its FACEBOOK and TWITTER pages, so make sure you follow these accounts and keep a check on the pages on 18th. This is definitely one of the best deals in the market at the moment, especially considering the specs of the device.

To recap, the M7 comes with a powerful MT6752 octa-core chipset with 3GB RAM and 16GB ROM. There will be a fingerprint sensor on board, along with a massive 5.5-inch full HD panel. For camera, there will be a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front shooter. Finally, it will feature a large 3800mAh removable battery and will run on Android 5.0.

Seems like a good deal! What do you think?

The post Zeaplus M7 To Be Available At Just $149 During Flash Sale! appeared first on Gizmochina.

In the past few weeks, we have covered a couple of articles on the upcoming Zeaplus M7 flagship. The company started off small but later on started making interesting handsets like the M7.

Now, we have the full detailed specifications of the Zeaplus M7 along with the pricing. The smartphone comes with the MT6752 octa-core 64-bit chip which is one of the best mid-range chipsets in the market right now. This along with the 3GB of RAM should provide enough power to handle everything that you throw at it.

As for the display, the phone sports a large 5.5-inch full HD panel with low power consumption tech. This translates into pixel density of an impressive 403 ppi and should display all videos and images with immense clarity. Another smart move by Zeaplus is the large 3800mAh battery on board the M7. This is much bigger than competitors, and should be able to give much more than a day’s usage.

Further the phone features a rear placed fingerprint sensor for securing your apps and documents on the phone. As for the camera, it comes with a 13MP Sony sensor at the back and a 5MP front facing shooters. The Zeaplus M7 runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop and comes with 16GB of expandable storage (up to 64GB via MicroSD).

The Zeaplus M7 is definitely one of the best mid-range flagship that you can buy at the moment! And the company has even priced it lower than competitors like the Ulefone and Elephone, as the M7 will retail for an official price tag of just $199. The phone will go on sale pretty soon and is currently listed as out of stock on the company website.

The post The Zeaplus M7 With MT6752, 3GB RAM & Fingerprint Sensor Priced At Just $199 appeared first on Gizmochina.

There is another flagship phone coming to the market mid June, this time from Zeaplus.

The phone specs look good as does the styling featuring 2.5d front glass and metal chassis with rounded corners that follow the screens radius, we are yet to see the rear of the phone but hopefully it will have clean smooth lines like the front.

I have just received more images that show the back to be textured with a nice curvature that looks like it will make the phone very easy to hold without fear of dropping it whilst encasing the 3800mAh battery.

The more I see of this phone the more I am liking the styling, its great to see that China phone companies are now giving us the larger batteries that we have been asking for without sacrificing style.

As yet pricing is not known but hopefully this will be available for $220 or less as Zeaplus are very keen on their smartwatch pricing.

The specifications are as follows (this will be updated as we find out more)

5.5”  FHD screen, Mediatek  MTK MT6752 cpu

Android Lollipop (out of the box)

13mp Sony IMX135 rear camera

Fingerprint Scanner

3800mAh battery

MicroSD: supported

Dual SIM card slots

and 4G LTE supporting Bands 1/3/7/20

Update No.2

I have spoken with Zeaplus and a review sample should be on its way to me very soon (when the first ones come off the production line), so stay tuned for the un-boxing and a full review shortly after.

The post New Zeaplus M7 Coming Mid June (UPDATED WITH NEW IMAGES) appeared first on Gizmochina.

Zeaplus has been slowly expanding its product portfolio since the early months of 2015. Now, the company is keen to announce its brand new smartphone, the Zeaplus M7 that turns out to be the best phone from this Chinese maker till date.

The Zeaplus M7 attempts to do the exact same thing that competitors have tried in the past few months. Bring in the super fast octa-core MT6752 chipset with 3GB RAM onboard to provide a smooth user experience. You get a full HD 5.5-inch display up front which should be able to show images and videos in crystal clear quality.

Other specs are also quite impressive. So, you get fingerprint recognition on the device for secured unlocking. There seems to be a trend among emerging phone companies to incorporate a fingerprint sensor on higher mid-range devices, so this move doesn’t come as a surprise. But Zeaplus has smartly added a large 3800mAh battery, much bigger than competitors to give the M7 an edge over others.

Finally, the phone will come with a Sony IMX135 13MP sensor and will run on Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. It will support dual SIM dual standby and for LTE, the phone supports Band 1/3/7/20.

Unfortunately, the company is yet to reveal a pricetag for the Zeaplus M7. However, considering the fact that its previous products have been quite affordable, we have a feeling it should be quite close to or even lower than competitors like the Elephone P7000.

We expect more details in the coming days as the phone is said to be launching this month itself.
