Taiwanesse smartphone manufacturer HTC, reportedly is preparing a smartphone that will run the Android Ice Cream Sandwich. But this time the Smartphone will be more targeted to lower-middle market. That phone called HTC Proto.

HTC Proto will be sports by using Dual Core 1GHz proccesor, 768MB of RAM, support for 4GB of internal memory and also has 4-inch WVGA display. This phone will be equipped with Sense 4.0 and rear camera resolution 5MP complete with LED Flash. This phone weighs around 114 grams and a thickness of about 9.3 mm.

To powered this phone, HTC chose to use 1.650mAh battery capacity. The phone is also equipped with facilities microSIM card, an external memory slot, Beats Audio and Bluetooth.

Unfortunately, no word on how the phone will look like, but we wouldn’t be surprised if it kept HTC’s classic Desire shape that was used for most of its phones in the past. Pricing and release date are yet to be revealed but the phone is expected to arrive later this year. It doesn’t sound too far-fetched to be a rumor, though we feel that HTC doesn’t need yet another mid-range device in its lineup.
