A few days back, we heard that Huawei was going to announce the Honor 8 flagship early July. In fact, we even had a date, i.e. July 5, which was said to be the release date of the device. Looks like this information might be true, as Honor has started teasing the smartphone. Considering the timing of the teaser, July 5 release could be possible.

In the teaser, Huawei is calling the Honor 8 “Beauty Out of the Ordinary”. The past rumors about the device have revealed that Honor 8 was going to be a very attractive smartphone. And it looks like the company has roped in a celebrity to promote the launch of the new flagship device. This is an important device for Honor since it’s going to be cheaper than the Honor V8 announced a couple of months back, yet it would feature specs good enough to take on other mid-range flagships in the market.

The phone is said to come with a double glass design and a metal frame which will reportedly make it look highly attractive. Further, the bezels on the screen are also said to be thin, thereby increasing its beauty up front. As for the specs, the Honor 8 will reportedly feature Kirin 955 octa-core chipset with 4GB RAM and three memory variants 32GB / 64GB and 128GB. The screen will be compact, measuring 5.2-inches with 1080p resolution. Like the Honor V8 and the Huawei P9, the Honor 8 is also expected to come with dual 12MP cameras at the back. But we are not sure whether there will be any differences in the module as compared to the V8 flagship.

Other features of the Honor 8 include an infrared port, 3200mAh battery, fingerprint sensor, and USB Type-C. The four expected variants, — 32GB without NFC, 32GB with NFC, 64GB and 128GB should be priced at 1999 Yuan ($308), 2199 Yuan ($334), 2499 Yuan ($380) and 2799 ($380) respectively. The top-end version should bump up the resolution to 2K.
