Xiaomi Redmi 5, the first smartphone from Xiaomi to come with a full-screen display will be receiving a 100 Yuan (approximately $16) price cut in China on 1st February. The offer is applicable only for one day and will begin at 10:00 AM. It seems that the offer is only applicable on the Redmi 5 and not the Redmi 5 Plus variant.

With this discount, the 2GB RAM + 16GB internal storage model will be available for 699 Yuan, which roughly converts to $111. Apparently, the discount is only for the 2GB RAM variant and pricing for other variants remains same.

The 3GB RAM + 32GB storage model will cost 899 Yuan (approximately $143) while the 4GB RAM + 32GB variant, which was recently launched, will be available for 1099 Yuan (approximately $175).
