Just a few days after Sony Xperia XZ Premium was patched against Spectre and Meltdown, the Japanese giant has decided to release a security patch for Sony Xperia XZ1 and XZ1 Compact as well, in order to get rid of the most feared security vulnerabilities of 2018. The update which is rolling out to these Xperia models brings the number of version to 47.1.A.12.75.

It contains the Android security patch of February 2018, the latest one released by Google for its operating system. Sony is showing a great software support for its device and it is among the first companies to provide an update against Spectre and Meltdown. The February security patch is not the only new thing brought to Sony Xperia XZ1 and Xperia XZ1 Compact with this new update.

There is also refreshed UI, with better app shortcuts and also a new Clock app icon. Further, the update brings Xperia Home to the version 11.2.A.0.6 which identifies these new renewals. If you still did not receive the update on your Sony Xperia XZ1 and Xperia XZ1 Compact, you can force its arrival by heading to the Settings, then tapping on Info about device and Software updates.
