On Feb. 14, Xiaomi had launched the Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro smartphones in India. Earlier in this week, Xiaomi’s product marketing director Zang Zhiyuan had confirmed that China would be soon receiving Redmi Note 5. A fresh Weibo post from him confirms that the Note 5 will be released in China in the next month.

Xiaomi had launched the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus smartphones with full screen design in China last year. The Redmi 5 Plus was launched in India with Redmi Note 5 moniker. Zihyuan’s Weibo post from last Friday hinted that the Redmi Note 5 arriving in China has stellar camera capabilities. The post had also included an image of Redmi Note 5 that carried a tagline “India’s camera beast.”

This suggests that the company may launch the recently unveiled Note 5 Pro as Redmi Note 5 in China. As of this writing, there is no information available on the exact launch date and pricing of Redmi Note 5 for China.
