HTC is currently working on its next-generation flagship smartphone, which is likely to be named HTC U12 or HTC U12 Plus. The phone has been subject to many leaks and rumors, and now the specifications of the HTC U12 have leaked online.

The newly leaked specs sheet of the phone reveals that the device will flaunt a 5.5-inch QHD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top. Under the hood, the device will be powered by Qualcomm‘s Snapdragon 845 processor which powers almost all flagship smartphones launched this year.

The phone will pack 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. There’s also a microSD card slot, ensuring that the users can expand the storage capacity up to 2TB. It will feature a 12-megapixel + 16-megapixel dual camera at the back, with f/1.5 aperture and UltraSpeed Autofocus. On the front side also, it is said to have a dual camera setup consisting of two 8-megapixel camera sensors.

The HTC U12 will also feature company’s Edge Sense 2.0 and will be running on Android Oreo operating system out-of-the-box. There will be a fingerprint sensor at the back of the phone. It will have an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance and will be bundled with HTC’s USonic earphones with noise cancellation.

The smartphone, which is speculated to pack 3,450mAh battery, will also support Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0 for fast charging as well as wireless charging. Further, the device will support Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, NFC, and Dolby Audio-enabled Boom Sound.

Recently, the phone’s renders were leaked online, revealing that the bezel-less display won’t have an iPhone X-like notch on the top. It suggests that the back side will be made of glass. Currently, there is no information available regarding the phone’s pricing and availability but it is expected to be priced similarly to the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus. The HTC U12 is expected to launch next month.

While the Taiwan-based company will be launching only one premium smartphone this year, HTC is also planning to launch U12 Life, an affordable mid-range which is expected to feature a notched display.
