In April this year, Vivo launched Vivo V9 Youth edition smartphone in the Indian market, which is the toned-down variant of the Vivo V9 in order to make it more affordable.

Now, the company has slashed the price of the Vivo V9 Youth in the Indian market by Rs. 1,000 (approx. $15). With this new price cut, the smartphone is now available for a price of Rs. 17,990, which roughly converts to $265.

Vivo V9 Youth Price Cut India

This was revealed through images posted by an offline retailer. However, at the time of writing this, the pricing of Vivo V9 Youth appears to be Rs. 18,990 on online retailing platforms, including the company’s own online store in India.

The Vivo V9 Youth edition comes with a 6.3-inch IPS LCD Full View 2.0 display with 1080 x 2280 Full HD+ screen resolution and a 19:9 aspect ratio along with a notch on top of the display. Under the hood, the device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC based on the 14nm process and clocked at 1.8GHz.

It is paired with an Adreno 506 GPU and packs 4GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage, along with support for microSD card for further expanding the phone’s storage capacity for up to 256GB. Coming to the camera department, the smartphone sports a dual camera setup at the back comprising a 16MP primary sensor and a 2MP secondary sensor.

The camera offers several features which are found on the more expensive V9, including AR stickers, Bokeh mode for DSLR-like effect, and an AI Face Beauty mode. On the front side, there’s a 16MP snapper and a soft LED flash, placed inside the front notch.

It also comes with Face Unlock feature which enables users to use facial recognition to unlock the phone with this camera. There’s also a fingerprint scanner located at the back panel.

Coming to the software, the device runs Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box and comes with a custom Funtouch OS 4.0 UI on top. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 Low Energy, and GPS with GLONASS. The device is powered by a 3,260mAh battery ensuring a full day of usage.
