There is a successor on the way for the Smartisan Nut Pro 2 but it won’t be called the Nut Pro 3. A new leak has surfaced and it reveals the successor will be called the Nut Pro 2S.

The leak is a bunch of live photos of the retail box of the upcoming phone. Apart from revealing the name of the device, it also shows some of its specs.

The photos reveal Smartisan’s mid-ranger will come with a Snapdragon 710 processor. This is the same chipset powering the Mi 8 SE and the Vivo NEX A. Apart from that, the Smartisan Nut Pro 2S will also have dual rear cameras. The configuration on the box shows a 12MP + 5MP configuration. It will also have a 16MP selfie camera.

The Nut Pro 2S will run Smartisan OS which is based on Android but the manufacturer has failed to reveal what version it is based on. Nevertheless, we don’t expect it to come with anything older than Android Oreo.Smartisan Nut Pro 2S

The Nut Pro 2S should launch soon as it already got its 3C certification last month. Yes, the model number on the box “OE106” is the same as that of the phone that got certified a few weeks ago. The certification shows the phone will support 18W fast charging.

With respect to other specs, Smartisan will most likely launch the phone with an 18:9 display. The Smartisan R1 is its only phone with a notch and it shares a design similar to that of the Essential PH-1, so there is a chance the Nut Pro 2S may have one too. We also expect it to launch in multiple storage variants with RAM reaching 6GB and storage maxing out at 256GB.
