Recent leaks of the upcoming Huawei Mate 20 Pro have revealed that it will be sporting a wider notch and a curved display. A leaked image of the alleged Mate 20 Pro has surfaced on Weibo today to reveal its front design.

The leaked image shows that the display of the Mate 20 Pro is curved towards its right and left edges. Except for the upper bezel of the phone that features a thick notch, the remaining bezels are quite thin. Rumors have it that the handset could be equipped with a massive AMOLED screen of 6.9 inches. The screen is expected to be embedded with an in-screen fingerprint reader.

Alleged Huawei Mate 20 Pro real skin

The Mate 20 Pro is rumored to arrive with 3D structured light module for scanning the face of the user in 3D like Apple’s Face ID. The large notch could be housing the 3D facing scanning module that may include a 24-megapixel front-facing camera. It is speculated that the notched display of the Mate 20 Pro will offer an aspect ratio of 18.7:9 and it would be supporting Quad HD+ resolution of 3120 x 1440 pixels like the LG G7 ThinQ phone.

Previous reports have revealed that the Mate 20 Pro could be equipped with a squared shaped camera module that will be housing triple camera sensors and an LED flash. The Kirin 980 SoC will be present under the hood of the Mate 20 Pro. It is expected to arrive with a 4,200mAh battery.

The authenticity of the above image is yet to be confirmed. Hence, it is advisable to take this report with grain of salt. Huawei will be announcing the Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro on Oct. 16 in London. It is also rumored to be debut Mate 20 Porsche Design smartphone alongside Mate 20 duo.
