A recent report had revealed that after launching the three variants of the Galaxy S10, Samsung will be also introducing a 5G variant of the phone. Wall Street Journal and South Korean ET News publication has shared some vital information on the advanced 5G model of the Galaxy S10.

The model number of the starting model of the Galaxy S10 is SM-G970x. It is speculated to feature a 5.8-inch display. The SM-G973x and SM-G975x models will be premium variants of the Galaxy S10. The SM-G973x is expected to feature a 5.8-inch screen whereas the SM-G975x may come equipped with a 6.4-inch display.

According to WSJ, the fourth model of the Galaxy S10 5G is internally known as Beyond X and it will be released in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Galaxy lineup. The model number of the smartphone is not known yet, but it is rumored to feature a massive display of 6.7 inches. It will be equipped with six cameras out of which four will be placed on its rear and two will be available on the front.

ET News claims that the fourth lens on the Galaxy S10’s rear could be a time-of-flight (ToF) camera that will enable 3D sensing on the device. The OPPO R17 Pro also features a ToF camera its dual camera setup. The ToF camera on the Galaxy S10 5G edition can assist in gesture navigation and create augmented reality (AR) experiences such as virtually wearing new clothes before buying or virtually trying a new furniture at different places around the house.

Coming back to information revealed by WSJ, the Galaxy S10 5G variant may also support for reverse wireless charging. This feature will allow users to wireless charge other devices by placing on the rear side of the Galaxy S10 5G. The said feature is available on the recently launched Huawei Mate 20 Pro. Investigating on the charging speed of the reverse wireless charging feature of Mate 20 Pro revealed that it could be a gimmick since it supports charging at 2.5W. Hopefully, the Galaxy S10 5G model supports at least 10W reverse wireless charging.

Samsung is expected to debut all four variants of the Galaxy S10 in mid-February. However, only three of them will be hitting the market first. The Galaxy S10 5G model is tipped to release in the market by the end Q1 or early Q2 2019 when the 5G networks become active.
