Huawei has announced that its EMUI 9 update has begun rolling out to some of its older flagships. These devices include the Mate 9 series (Mate 9, Mate 9 Pro, and Mate 9 Porsche Design) which all originally launched with EMUI 5.0 based on Android Nougat.

The Mate 9 series was announced back in 2016 and came with Nougat pre-installed. They later got updated to EMUI 8.0 based on Android Oreo in 2017 and now they are getting upgraded to Android Pie.

The EMUI 9.0 update is also rolling out to the Huawei P10 and Huawei P10 Plus which also launched with Android Nougat. The Honor V9, Honor 9, and Nova 2s also join the pie party.

If you own any of these devices, all you have to do is go to the Huawei Services app, select service, and then upgrade.

EMUI 9.0 brings a number of new features. System performance has been improved and application startup times have reduced. It also brings AI features, GPU Turbo, support for face unlock and WeChat fingerprint payment.
