Meizu is on the verge of launching its new flagship device, Meizu 16s with a lot of advancements over its predecessor. Numerous leaks and rumors are already here depicting its unknown details and specifications. In recent information straight out from the Meizu’s founder and former CEO, Huang Zhang aka Jack Wong, it is revealed that the Meizu 16s will carry a 48 megapixel Sony IMX586 camera with OIS.

In a reply to a question on the Meizu Community, Huang responded and cleared the space around Meizu 16s cameras. The new revelation from the Huang Zhang has denied all the rumors which were stating that it will come with a 20MP Sony IMX350 + 12MP Sony IMX380 sensors. Further, he said multiple sensors are only adding some auxiliary features to the camera capabilities of the device. The major work is still done by a primary camera on the phone. The new development is giving a hint that Meizu 16s might come with a single camera on the rear side.

Additionally, according to past leaks, the Meizu 16s is expected to carry Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC. The new 7nm process developed Qualcomm chipset will improve its efficiency and performance. Furthermore, the Adreno 640 GPU will make it rendering smooth for games and other graphics-intensive tasks. It will be coupled with 6GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage. The Meizu 16s is also rumored to be coming with a 6.2 inch AMOLED Full HD+ display. It will be covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 6 to protect against sudden falls. A recent teaser has even confirmed that the Meizu 16s will be thinner than the Meizu 16.

It will be an upgrade over its predecessor featuring many advanced features such as Snapdragon 855 and 48 MP Sony IMX586 camera. There will be a very thin 3600 mAh battery to fit in the device with extended power backup. It will come with fast charging and wireless charging feature.

As per the recent comments from CEO, the device will make debut in April for the price of 3300 Yuan which roughly translates to $490.
