Now, special edition smartphones have become a popular way of marketing and getting the attention of a wider audience. This helps both — the brand to reach a broader audience and the phone maker to extend shelf life with minor changes.

Many smartphone brands have launched a special edition or limited edition smartphone for promotions. Now, Honor has announced that it has partnered with Aape to launch a special edition of Honor 20i named Honor 20i Aape Edition.

Honor 20i Aape Edition

The news comes just a day after the Honor 20i was made available for pre-orders in China. The phone is scheduled to go official on 17th April, tomorrow. It remains to be seen how this special edition differs from the standard version.

Coming to the specifications, the Honor 20i will be featuring a 6.21-inch IPS LCD display with a waterdrop notch. The screen will carry support for Full HD+ resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The handset will offer more than 90 percent screen-to-body ratio.

Under the hood, the company’s won Kirin 710 octa-core chipset will be powering the smartphone. It will come in three variants based on the memory configurations — 4GB RAM + 128GB storage, 6GB RAM + 64GB storage, and 6GB RAM + 256GB storage.

As for the camera, the phone will feature a 32-megapixel front-facing camera with AI-driven selfie beautification features. The rear triple camera setup will include a 24-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. There will also be a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.

In the software department, the smartphone will be running Android 9 Pie operating system with the company’s custom EMUI 9.0.1 UI on top. The phone will also come with support for Game Turbo 2.0. The device will be powered by a 3,400mAh battery which will also carry support for 10W charging.
