To facilitate the customers with super fast delivery, Jingdong Group announced a new Express delivery. Especially for merchants and individuals, new delivery service will deliver orders in 30 minutes within 3 kilometres. The new service is limited to a few cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Changsha.
Dada and JD’s own logistics team jointly powered the new Express service in China. The service is divided into two different capacities – first, the item will be delivered within 30 minutes if the delivery address is within 3-kilometre range of warehouse location. Otherwise, it will take 1 hour to complete the order.
Furthermore, the service can be accessed through WeChat – a Tencent owned-messaging service. JD.com is making every small step to increase the accessibility of its services across China. After successful implementation of JingDong Express service, it will gradually expand to more cities in the future.
The company also want its logistics firm to withstand the competition with the new service. JD Logistics is reeling under loss from past many years. The company is making every effort to make the Logistics team survive and compete in the market, said Richard Liu, founder of JD.com in a letter to distributors last month.
