Back in October 2018, Xiaomi India announced a special red edition of the Mi Power 2i. Other than the red paint job, it is the same as the regular black version. Starting today, the Mi Power 2i will also be available in blue, bringing the total number of colors to three.

The new blue variant is priced at INR 999 (~$14), INR 100 (~$1.44) more than the other two color variants. That is a negligible difference but it is surprising why it is there in the first place. A new color variant shouldn’t cost more.
