Xiaomi‘s ecological chain has launched its first electronic paper device with a 10.3-inch display and a stylus pen. The product is named “Ink Case Smart Electronic Paper” and it comes with a steep 2,499 yuan ($361) price tag.

The e-Paper adopts a white body and flat design with an ultra-light magnesium alloy middle frame, which is about two-third the size of an iPad. The tablet doesn’t emit light itself as it uses an e-ink display screen. When the content on the electronic paper is not updated within a short period, the ink drops are in a stable state with no flicker, thus the device has low power consumption.Ink Case Smart Electronic Paper

As stated, the device comes with a 10.3-inch screen with the effective display area being about 3 times the size of the mainstream 6-inch e-book reader due to the tiny bezels. The resolution reaches 1404×1872 pixels, more than the pixel size of an FHD TV screen. The large display area and high resolution are very suitable for reading professional information, especially text contents. The device comes with a Wacom electromagnetic stylus which supports 4096-level pressure sensing with a sampling rate of 360 times/second without charging.
