The update is OxygenOS 9.5.6 and like a lot of updates, it is rolling out in stages. A wider roll-out should begin anytime soon. Below is the change-log for the update:

System

  • Updated Android security patch to 2019.6.
  • Optimized the sensitivity of automatic brightness.
  • General bug fixes and improvements.

Phone

  • Improved audio quality.

Camera

  • Optimized photo quality.

This is the second update OnePlus has released for the phone this month. The first came with May’s security patch and significant camera improvements.

In other news, OnePlus is recruiting for Closed Beta Testers for the OnePlus 7. Those selected will get access to features and builds weeks or months before public release. OnePlus says it is recruiting 250 people for the program. Below are the requirements to join the program:

  • Use a OnePlus 7 series device.
  • Be an active OnePlus Community member.
  • Be willing to constantly communicate and provide feedback to the OnePlus team on Slack.

If you meet the requirements, you can apply and see if you will be selected.
