Honor is reportedly gearing up to launch a new smartphone called Honor 20S in China. Some reports have claimed that the handset could be called Honor 20 SE. The Chinese has confirmed through Weibo that it will be holding a launch event on Sept. 4 to announce an Honor 20 series smartphone. It is speculated that the company may unleash the Honor 20S phone on the said date.
The below poster confirms that the company will be launching a new Honor 20 series phone on Sept. 4. The handset shown in the hands of the Chinese celebrity does not seem to be the Honor 20S phone, but Icelandic White color variant of the Honor 20. However, the purported Honor 20S handset’s leaked render that is now doing rounds on social media sites show that it will come with a triple camera system on its rear.
It is speculated that the Honor YAL-AL50 / TL50 smartphone that was recently approved by the TENAA agency in China could be the Honor 20S phone. Most of the specs of the Honor YAL-AL50 / TL50 resembles with Honor 20. However, the only major difference is the presence of a triple camera setup on its back.
The Honor YAL-AL50 / TL50 smartphone features a 6.26-inch display with a punch-hole at its top-left corner for its 32-megapixel selfie camera. The rear side of the phone has a 48-megapixel + 8-megapixel + 2-megapixel triple camera setup.
The 2.6GHz processor that powers the Honor YAL-AL50 / TL50 could be the Kirin 980 chipset. Its RAM editions are 6 GB, 8 GB and 12 GB. The handset may release in storage models such as 128 GB and 256 GB. The handset has a minimum rated battery of 3,650mAh capacity. Its typical capacity could be 3,750mAh. There is no fingerprint scanner on the backside of the phone. Probably, it could be sporting a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The handset also carries support for rapid charging.
The Honor 20 is selling with a starting price of 2,699 Yuan (~$376) Probably, the Honor 20S could be priced between 2000 Yuan (~$279) and 2600 Yuan (~$264). It is advisable to wait for further reports to know the exact name of the device and rumored pricing.
