Realme has today confirmed through a Weibo post that the company will be launching its new Q-series of smartphones in the Chinese market on 5th September. Along with that, the company has also confirmed that the phones will come with a quad-camera setup.

The Oppo-backed company has recently launched the Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro smartphones in India, featuring quad-camera setup on the back — a first for the company. The smartphone was also recently certified by TENAA, indicating that the Q-series could be the re-branded version of the Realme 5 series for the Chinese market.

Realme Q Launch Date

There were also reports about Realme launching the Realme XT smartphone given that the company’s CMO Xu Qi Chase posted a photo of the 64MP quad-camera smartphone. However, it seems that the 64MP camera smartphone will launch in China later.

The company has said that more information about the Realme Q-series smartphones will be shared in the coming days, ahead of the launch event on 5th September. The company currently has two phones in China — Realme X and X Lite. While the Realme X was first launched in China featuring a pop-up front camera, the X Lite is a re-branded version of Realme 3 Pro for the Chinese market.

Realme 5 Pro

Coming to the specifications, while the Realme 5 features a 6.5-inch HD+ display, the 5 Pro comes with a 6.5-inch Full HD+ display, both featuring a waterdrop notch. While the standard model is powered by Snapdragon 665 SoC, the Pro variant comes powered by the Snapdragon 712 chipset.

In the camera department, the Realme 5 Pro comes with Sony IMX586 48-megapixel main lens with f/1.79 aperture, an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens with 119-degree field-of-view, f/2.25 aperture, a 2-megapixel portrait lens with f/2.4 aperture, and a 2-megapixel ultra-macro lens with 4cm focal length and f/2.4 aperture. On the front side, it comes with Sony IMX471 16-megapixel with f/2.0 aperture.

On the other hand, the Realme 5 features a 12-megapixel primary lens, an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens, a 2-megapixel portrait lens, and a 2-megapixel ultra-macro lens. On the front side, there’s a 13-megapixel snapper for taking selfies and video calling.

Realme 5 Pro

Connectivity options on the device include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, a GPS/ A-GPS, and 3.5mm headphone jack. Both the smartphones run ColorOS 6.0 on top based on Android 9 Pie operating system out-of-the-box.

The Realme 5 Pro is powered by a 4,035mAh battery and carries support for 20W VOOC 3.0 flash charging while the Realme 5 is powered by a 5,000mAh battery. As for the pricing, in India, the pricing of the standard model starts at ₹9,999 (~$139) while the Pro model starts at ₹13,999 (~$195).

Meanwhile, the company is also gearing up to launch its 64 MP quad-camera smartphone in the Indian market. During Realme 5 series launch, Madhav Sheth had confirmed that the phone will be named Realme XT and will launch in India in September.
