Google Play Pass is a monthly subscription service that grants you access to all the premium paid apps on the Google Play Store for that month.

When it was first reported, it was a rumor but on Monday, the official Google Play Twitter account (@GooglePlay) tweeted that Google Play Pass is coming.

With Google Play Pass, you can download hundreds of premium apps and game and not have to deal with ads and even in-app purchases. Rumored price is said to cost $4.99 per month.

This is supposed to be Google‘s answer to Apple Arcade, a subscription-based service that is also priced at $4.99 per month (with family sharing) for unlimited access. Apple Arcade will be available in over 150 countries starting September 19. The service will have exclusive games from Konami, Capcom, and Ustwo (Monument Valley) among others.

We don’t know if Google will announce Play Pass this month or alongside the Pixel 4 launch which is rumored to be next month. We also don’t know about availability yet. We hope more details surface before the official unveiling.
