In May, Vivo had launched the Vivo S1 and Vivo S1 Pro smartphones in China. A new Vivo S-series phone seems to have been spotted with its brand ambassador in a promotional video for Esquire magazine. It is being speculated that the mysterious smartphone with diamond-shaped quad camera unit could be debuting in the Chinese market as Vivo S5.

In the screenshots shown below, a mysterious Vivo phone with gradient color rear can be seen. Chinese rap singer and dancer, Cai Xukun who can be seen in the video can be seen holding the device is the brand ambassador of Vivo’s S-series of smartphones. This indicates that he is holding an upcoming S-series phone.

Purported Vivo S5Coming to the rear design of the phone, it is equipped with a diamond-shaped quad camera unit with LED flash below it. Phones with vertical and square shaped quad camera system have arrived in the market, but this Vivo phone sports a distinctive camera design. This unique design indicates that it could be an upper mid-range.

The upper edge of the phone seems to be housing a 3.5mm audio jack. It does not seem to feature a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. Hence, it could be sporting an under-display fingerprint reader. The appearance of the phone suggests that it could be a youth-centric phone like the Vivo S1 and Vivo S1 Pro. The front design of the phone remains a mystery.

The Chinese media is speculating that it could be called Vivo S5. By the naming pattern of Vivo, the device should be debuting as Vivo S3, but it is being referred to as Vivo S5. The moniker suggests that it could be arriving with specs that are more powerful than the Vivo S1 Pro.

It is advisable to wait for further reports to know more about the rumored Vivo S5 smartphone. As far as its launch is concerned, its arrival could be close at hand as it has been already revealed to the audience through a promo video.
