Apple is working on its new iOS 14 mobile operating system as well as iPadOS 14. While the company has not yet announced anything about it, latest report indicates that the newer version will come with improved system-wide support for mouse cursors.

A report from 9to5Mac indicates that the mouse support with iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 will be much richer. Apple has already introduced rudimentary mouse support but it is added deeper into the accessibility menu.

It is said that several mouse-related features of the Mac will be brought to the iOS with the new update. For instance, different types of pointers will show up depending on where the mouse hovers. Currently, it just shows a semi-opaque circle that has a dot in the middle.

Along with that, it is reported that Mac-like gestures like tapping with two fingers to right click will also be introduced with iOS 14.

The build for iOS 14 reviewed by 9to5Mac also has references to two new Smart Keyboard models. This is in line with the previous report which claimed that there was a new Smart Keyboard on the way with a built-in trackpad.

There’s also a reference to “tap to click” setting which indicates that the trackpad will have some sort of depression, probably with some kind of haptic feedback. We expect to know more about all this in the coming weeks or months.
