In January, the RedmiBook moniker was trademarked by Xiaomi on the website of Intellectual Property India that belongs to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. At that time, it was speculated that the RedmiBook could be soon coming to India. It appears that the first ever Redmi laptop for India is finally nearing its launch as it has bagged approval from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS).

RedmiBook 14 BIS

The XMA1901-xx model number that has been spotted at the database of BIS by MobileScout matches with the RedmiBook 14. The BIS listing seems to show multiple variants of the RedmiBook 14. Last year in May, Redmi had launched the RedmiBook 14 in China alongside the Redmi K20 series. Its Enhanced Edition featuring 10th gen Intel processor and the Ryzen Edition were also made official later in the year.

The Chinese firm had also launched the RedmiBook 13 at the end of 2019 in the home market. There is no confirmation yet on whether India will be getting the RedmiBook 13, but it appears that the RedmiBook 14 may go official in the country in the near future. However, it is unclear which edition of the RedmiBook 14 could be coming to India.

The RedmiBook 14 that went official in May 2019 featured a metal body and it was powered by Intel Core i7 / Core i5 with NIVIDA GeForce MX250 graphics. The processor was accompanied by up 8 GB of RAM. The device was equipped with a 14-inch IPS LCD panel that produced full HD+ resolution. Since the screen sport slim bezels on all four sides, it delivered a screen space of 81.2 percent.
