Redmi’s latest flagship, the Redmi K30 Pro, was previously rumored to launch alongside a special Zoom Edition. This has now been confirmed by the General Manager of the Chinese company, Lu Weibing.
According to a recent Weibo post by the senior official, Lu Weibing didn’t outright reveal the new version. Rather, the device with which the post was shared on the Chinese microblogging website was found to be from the Redmi K30 Pro Zoom Editing. Literally, the direct translation mentioned Zoom “version” but that is about the same thing since its existence has finally been confirmed.
Unfortunately, finer details regarding the upcoming flagship entry are currently unknown. However, considering the name of the device, it is likely that the Redmi K30 Pro Zoom Edition will feature a camera lens dedicated to magnification. In other words, the handset will likely feature a hybrid (Digital + Optical) zoom lens.

Since it is a flagship, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 SoC may also make an appearance and the device will also support 5G networking via the X55 Modem, similar to the base Redmi K30 5G. Furthermore, Wang Tang, the Product Director for Redmi has revealed earlier today (16th March 2020), that the Redmi K30 Pro’s battery will exceed 4,200mAh battery.
This is to be expected considering the base model featured a large 4,500mAh anyway. Notably, the K20 Pro, on the other hand, featured a 4,000mAh battery. Hence, this is still an upgrade over the previous generation. Additional information is expected to arrive soon, so stay tuned for more.
