In order to offer high screen-to-body ratio on the smartphones, companies started adopting different types of design, including the pop-up front-facing camera module and punch-hole cutout on the screen for housing the camera sensor.
While the pop-up camera module for the front-facing snapper was quite popular, we’ve not seen much devices in the past few months adopting this design. The Redmi K30 Pro is among the few flagship phones to have such design.

Now, Lu Weibing, General Manager of Redmi brand and President of Xiaomi Group China says that the pop-up front-facing camera system will become rare in the 5G era. He says that the number of components in 5G smartphones have increased significantly, making it more difficult to use a mechanical arrangement.
He also adds that the pop-up camera module also poses a huge challenge in terms of motherboard design. If the motherboard is divided into two parts, then it poses the risk of inadequate heat dissipation. He also talks about the need of higher capacity battery in the device for the 5G smartphones.

As said, the upcoming Redmi K30 Pro, which is set to launch in China on 24th March, will come with a pop-up front-facing camera. The phone is expected to come with a 6.67-inch Full HD+ display with the usual 60Hz refresh rate and in-display fingerprint scanner.
Recently, the company confirmed that the smartphone will come with a VC liquid cooled heat sink which will improve performance and enable Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 chipset to run at full capacity. It s also equipped with a 3,435 square millimetre of liquid cooled heat sink which is claimed to offer improved thermal performance and allow for greater heat dissipation over traditional cooling methods.
It has also been confirmed that the device will feature new UFS 3.1 storage standard which is the latest and fastest memory chip currently available commercially in the market and will provide read speeds up to 750MB/s.
