Xiaomi officially announced the MIUI 12 custom ROM on April 27 during the Mi 10 Youth launch event. The Chinese firm later announced the custom ROM for the global market on May 19 with a schedule of models that would get the update. Earlier, the company had commenced recruitment of MIUI 12 Global beta testers for the Redmi K20 and K20 Pro. The Mi 9, Mi 9T and Mi 9T Pro also joined the party of beta testers.

Xiaomi has now announced on the Mi Community, yet another Global Pilot testing program for the Redmi Note 8 Pro, Redmi Note 7 Pro, Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7S. Interested owners of the K20 models have until June 17, 9 PM IST to apply for the pilot testing program. Since this is for a beta version, expect the software to contain bugs.
