DXOMark first gained popularity with its smartphone camera tests which started out with the rear cameraas but soon expanded to the selfie camera. the companty soon extended its testing to rthe selfie camera. No sooner than that started, Audio testing was added to the mix,. DXOMarkhas now announced trhe addition ofg a new test for the display of smartphones.

Smartphone displays play a major role in how we interact with the features on the smartphones.  Thus, it really isn’t coming out as a surprise to see that DXOMark is now ranking smartphone displays. The ranking presently contains nin (9) models with the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra at the helm. Others include the OnePlus 8 Pro, Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G, Apple iPhone 11 Pro Max, TCL 10 Pro, Oppo Find X2 Pro, Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra, Asus ROG Phone 3 and Xiaomi Black Shark 3 Pro, in that order.

DXOMark’s smartphone display test covers six sub-items which includes legibility, color, video, motion, touch, and artefacts. Each sub-item is also composed of multiple dimensions and finally, scores are given through complex calculations.

The company also disclosed that they will choose real-world test screens, and finally combine objective and perception tests for evaluation. In addition, the dynamic properties of the mobile phone touch screen will be benchmarked, such as whether the video is playing, whether the game drops frames; whether there will be problems with color or rendering, etc.
