TECNO, one of three Transsion brands, launched the TECNO POVA in late November 2020. A little over six months later, the company has already announced this device’s successor called TECNO POVA 2. Just like its predecessor, the brand advertises this phone as a budget gaming smartphone.

TECNO POVA 2 Specifications and Features
The newly unveiled TECNO POVA 2 flaunts a 6.9-inch LCD panel with a resolution of 1080 x 2460 pixels (FHD+), 180Hz touch sampling rate, 20:5:9 aspect ratio, 480 nits peak brightness, and a centered punch-hole. The device features a plastic build, measures 173.32 x 78.78 x 9.62mm in dimensions, weighs 185g, and comes in three colors (Polar Silver, Power Blue, Dazzle Black).
The smartphone is powered by a MediaTek Helio G85 chipset coupled with 4GB/6GB LPDDR4x RAM and 64GB/128GB storage. Being an affordable handset, it comes with a MicroSD card slot to further expand the storage if required.
As for optics, the phone sports a 48MP (wide) + 2MP (macro) + 2MP (depth) + 2MP (AI lens) quad-camera setup on the back. Whereas, for selfies and video calls, the device uses an 8MP shooter.

On the connectivity front, the handset supports dual-SIM, 4G, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, and GNSS. It charges via a USB Type-C port and also has a 3.5mm headphone jack as well as a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
Last but not least, the TECNO POVA 2 runs HiOS 7.6 based on Android 11 and is backed by a 7,000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging.
TECNO POVA 2 Price and Availability
The TECNO POVA 2 has been currently announced in the Philippines. The smartphone is priced at ₱7,990 ($167) for the 6GB + 128GB variant in the country. It will be available for pre-order starting June 5 till June 11.
Like any other TECNO phone, this one should also reach other markets where the brand has its presence.
