Xiaomi is known for its Mi Community forum. Since its inception, the company has been accepting feedback from users via this platform. This place on the internet is also a one-stop destination for Xiaomi product users worldwide to communicate on various topics. But unfortunately, the Indian version of Mi Community was shuttered last year due to local regulations. Now, almost a year later, Xiaomi’s POCO Community is officially debuting in the country.
Last year, the Indian government started banning a plethora of Chinese applications and services. One of those apps was Mi Community.
In July 2020, Xiaomi officially announced that it is disabling the app and the website of Mi Community India. Though the company called it ‘temporarily’, the service is yet to be reinstated even after 11 months.
On the bright side, the company’s POCO brand is launching its POCO Community in India after the service’s successful debut in other markets. But unfortunately, interested people cannot use it right away.
The brand is currently only offering ‘Beta Access’ to the platform. In order to qualify, netizens will have to answer a questionnaire. Most importantly, they only get a single chance since multiple entries are prohibited.
