Earlier this month, French fashion brand Louis Vuitton had announced its entry into the audio segment of the accessories market with a bang. The company had unveiled a pricey and fashionable wireless speaker shaped like a UFO and looks like one of the fashion brand’s iconic handbags. The speaker dubbed Horizon Light Up is now available for preorders for $2,890.
The Horizon Light Up is a wireless speaker that sports a leather exterior and an admixture of bright lights in its design. Louis Vuitton is targeting the high end of the consumer spectrum – the fashion collectors. The design of the Horizon Light Up was inspired by the UFO-like Toupie handbag, which takes the form of a spinning top.
It is an elegant and discreet travel companion, in sync with the tone of Louis Vuitton’s Spirit of Travel. It is a lightweight speaker at just 1kg and has a height of 14cm, and a diameter of 18cm. It has two rubber feet to position the speaker on the side, a woofer, and two 0.75-inch tweeters. The device is omnidirectional when placed on its dock and unidirectional when positioned sideways on its rubber feet.
Exclusive additional functions and controls are available via the Louis Vuitton Connect app, available on Apple Store, Google Play, and Huawei App Gallery. Users are assured of about 15 hours of playtime, with fast charging via its charger.
The speaker comes with a dock for straight positioning and charging, a universal adaptor with 6 plugs, 2 USB-C cables, a removable leather wrist strap, and a travel pouch.
