Samsung unveiled the Galaxy A22 and Galaxy A22 5G in early June. The former handset made its debut in India at the end of last month itself. Now, weeks later, the South Korean tech giant has launched the latter model in the country.

The Samsung Galaxy A22 5G will retail for the following price tags in India

  • 6GB + 128GB – ₹19,999 ($269)
  • 8GB + 128GB – ₹21,999 ($296)

The handset will be available for purchase from July 24. Buyers can avail a cashback of ₹1,500 using HDFC Bank credit/debit cards.

The Galaxy A22 5G features a plastic build like most Samsung smartphones. It sports a 6.6-inch PLS TFT LCD panel with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels (FHD+), a 90Hz refresh rate, and a dewdrop notch.

It comes powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset coupled with 6GB/8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. If needed, users can expand the storage by up to 1TB via a MicroSD card.

On the connectivity front, the phone supports dual-SIM, 5G, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, GNSS, USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Sensors on this device include an accelerometer, proximity sensor, gyroscope, side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and compass.

For photography and videography, it uses a 48MP (wide) + 5MP (ultra-wide) + 2MP (depth) triple rear camera setup and an 8MP selfie camera. As for software, it runs One UI Core 3.1 based on Android 11 and is said to get two years of OS updates.

Finally, the smartphone is backed by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 15W fast charging. The device comes in three colors (Grey, Mint, Violet) in India, measures 167.2 x 76.4 x 9mm in dimensions, and weighs 203g.
