Earlier this week, the purported iQOO 8 was kept on display at the ChinaJoy 2021 tech trade show. Today, iQOO released an official confirmation through its Weibo handle that the iQOO 8 series will be made official at 7:30 PM (local time) on Aug. 17 in China.

The iQOO 8 lineup may possibly include two models namely, the iQOO 8 and iQOO 8 Pro. Rumors have suggested that the display, chipset, and charging capabilities will be the major attractions of the iQOO 8 series.

The iQOO 8 series will be the first phone(s) to feature Samsung’s E5 AMOLED LTPO display that is expected to offer a dynamic refresh rate of up to 120Hz, 2K+ resolution, and 10-bit colors. The smartphone that was showcased at ChinaJoy revealed that it has a centrally aligned punch-hole screen with curved edges. It is also expected to arrive with a larger in-display fingerprint scanning area.

Reports suggest that the V2141A Vivo phone that was approved by the MIIT authority of China could be one of the iQOO 8 series smartphones. The device was spotted with Snapdragon 888+ SoC, which is an overclocked version of the SD888 chip. It may come with up to 12 GB of RAM and 4 GB of virtual RAM. It may offer up to 256 GB of internal storage and will come preinstalled with OriginOS 1.0 based Android 11 OS.

The iQOO 8 and iQOO 8 Pro may support 160W Flash Charge technology. If this turns out to be false, the company may at least offer 120W fast charge support on the iQOO 8 duo.
