OnePlus has announced the release of the latest updates for the Nord and Nord CE smartphones, together with the August 2021 security patch for both devices. The new update offers greater functionality and stability for the two Nord models. The added features that come with the new updates include a personalized ambient display and screenshot functionality.
Both the OnePlus Nord and the OnePlus Nord CE are mid-rangers, with the Nord CE launched in June 2021. The OnePlus Nord is getting the OxygenOS 11.1.5.5 globally, with separate builds for North America, Europe, and India. The latest security patch that comes with the update is meant to enhance the overall software security of the devices. On the other hand, the OnePlus Nord CE will be getting the OxygenOS 11.0.6.6, with separate builds for India, Europe, and America, as well.
One of the new features is the Bitmoji AOD, which is the outcome of a partnership between OnePlus and Snapchat, and it aims to light up the ambient display with the user’s Bitmoji avatar. The avatar, according to OnePlus, will update throughout the day, based on the user’s activity and things happening in the surrounding. In addition, there is an upgrade to the Google Mobile Services and better optimization of the smartphone’s camera effect.
No detailed rollout plans are available at this time, but we expect a structured rollout until all the regions are catered for. OnePlus would expect that these new updates will enhance the overall user experience for the two smartphones. The updates can only be successfully installed when at least 30% of the battery is still available and a minimum of 3GB of storage space.
