Samsung is reportedly working on new A-series phones for 2022. A recent report claimed that the South Korean company is planning to bring OIS support to entire Galaxy A series lineup next year. Now, a South Korean publication has reported that the Galaxy A73 could be the company’s first A series phone to feature a 108-megapixel camera.

A new report by The Elec claims that Samsung is planning to launch the Galaxy A73 in the first half of 2022. Apart from featuring a 108-megapixel primary camera, it will also carry support for OIS.

The Galaxy A73 will be replacing the Galaxy A72 smartphone this year. The A72 features a quad-camera unit, which consists of an OIS-enabled 64-megapixel main camera, a 12-megapixel ultrawide lens, an 8-megapixel telephoto camera, and a 5-megapixel macro shooter. For selfies, it has a 32-megapixel snapper.

Nothing much is known on the other specs of the Galaxy A73. It is likely to feature a Snapdragon 7-series chipset, which may tag along 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of built-in storage. Hopefully, the rumor mill will spill more information on the A73 in the coming months.

Like the predecessor A72, the Galaxy A73 may offer users an AMOLED panel that offers a high refresh rate and a big battery with fast charging capabilities. It may continue to offer IP67 rated dust and water resistance. It remains to be seen whether it will come preinstalled with the upcoming One UI 4.0 and Android 12 OS.
