Zepp Health (formerly known as Huami) has announced that it will unveil new products next month. The global launch event is expected to be for new smartwatches under the Amazfit GTR and Amazfit GTS line. While not yet confirmed, the new wearable should launch as the Amazfit GTR 3 and Amazfit GTS 3 respectively.

The announcement was made on Twitter by the Amazfit Global account and the tweet says the global event is scheduled for October 11, a day before the China launch that was reported earlier today.

There is a lot of anticipation for the new Amazfit smartwatches as they are expected to run the new operating system unveiled in July. Called Zepp OS, the new operating system comes with lots of new features that will provide a better experience for users. The OS is not only light, coming in at just 55MB, a small fraction when compared to the current Amazfit OS or even Apple’s watchOS 8, but also brings an improvement in performance and battery life. The manufacturer also promises an increase of 190% in battery life with the new OS, and support for internet cloud service applications a.k.a. web apps among other upgrades.

In related news, we have spotted a new Amazfit Smartwatch at the FCC. The smartwatch, which has the model number A2040, was certified on September 23 and from one of the documents, we can tell it has a round display.

We were also spotted new features such as a different UI with new options in the menu. As shown in the image above, the menu appears to have been redesigned. There is now a menu option that reads ā€œCard Packageā€, above it is ā€Calendarā€ and there is also a ā€œToolsā€ menu option. The Settings menu also has some new additions such as Apps which points at app support. The System sub-menu also has a new option tagged ā€œBind New Phoneā€ along with the other familiar ones.

This is definitely a new UI that will appear on the upcoming smartwatches and we can’t wait to try it out.
