Vivo is apparently working on a new smartphone that is a part of its NEX series of smartphones. The latest NEX model will be a flagship grade handset that will reportedly feature top notch hardware like the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC.
The news arrives from known Weibo blogger Digital Chat Station (Tipster on the Chinese microblogging website). This upcoming NEX series phone will feature a new form, design, platform, and even a new imaging solution as well. Back in April, we had reported on the Chinese smartphone maker reportedly working on a new NEX phone that features an under display camera, 60W wireless charging, and other features.
For those unaware, Vivo hasn’t released a new NEX series smartphone for a while now, with the last model being launched in March 2020. But rumors had surfaced regarding a successor being in the works. As per our initial report, this new NEX model would launch as NEX 5 in the second half of this year. This device was rumored to feature an under display selfie camera under a waterfall display supplied by LG Display.
Other rumored features include support for the company’s 120W Super FlashCharge and 60W wireless charging, along with IP68 certification for dust and water resistance. Unfortunately, finer details regarding this smartphone is currently unknown, so stay tuned for more as we will be providing updates when additional information is available.
