Xiaomi group smartphones have been running MIUI since the beginning. No matter the brand, whether it’s Xiaomi (formerly Mi), Redmi, or POCO, all handsets from them run the same software. However, POCO phones come with a different theme and the brand calls it MIUI for POCO. According to a reliable leaker, Redmi devices will also ship with a customized version of MIUI.

Digital Chat Station says that Redmi smartphones will soon use a tweaked version of MIUI. This will help the brand to establish its own identity. However, he did not reveal when we will get to see the first iteration of MIUI designed for Redmi handsets.

We don’t think the MIUI for Redmi will differ in terms of features and functionality. It will most likely only have a new look just like how MIUI on POCO devices seems slightly different than on Redmi and Xiaomi-branded (Mi) handsets.

The implementation will be probably similar to what Huawei, OPPO, and vivo have been doing for years. HONOR devices run a tweaked version of EMUI called Magic UI, while realme UI is based on ColorOS. Similarly, OriginOS and Funtouch OS for iQOO smartphones are a bit different from the same software found on vivo phones.
