At the end of November, OPPO started recruiting testers for the OPPO Reno5 series ColorOS 12 Open Beta program in China. The initiative was only limited to two devices in the lineup initially. Now, two more phones dubbed OPPO Reno5 Pro and OPPO Reno5 Pro 5G have been added ahead of schedule.

OPPO is supposed to kickstart the Android 12-based ColorOS 12 Open Beta program for the OPPO Reno5 Pro and OPPO Reno5 Pro 5G in China, India, and Pakistan from December 10. However, the company has opened registrations a day earlier, just like it did with the OPPO Reno5 5G and the OPPO Reno5 Pro 5G in China.

According to the official announcement posts on OPPO Community, anyone with the OPPO Reno5 Pro 5G running the following firmware versions can enroll in the Android 12 beta program.

  • OPPO Reno5 Pro

    • Pakistan – A.12
  • OPPO Reno5 Pro 5G

    • China – A.17 or A.18
    • India – A.12

In order to do so, users will have to navigate to Settings > Software Update > Gear Icon > Apply for Beta Version > Update Beta Version and follow on-screen instructions. The applications will be reviewed within 5 working days. The company will begin rolling out the beta release via OTA within  3 working days from that.

In China, participants can fill a questionnaire to further increase their chance of gettings selected.

Having said that, there’s no official word on the availability of the stable update from OPPO so far. It will most likely arrive as early as next month.
