While Apple keeps launching its iPhone lineup with a few technological improvements over the previous generation models, the Cupertino-based company is yet to launch a foldable smartphone, a category that is currently being dominated by Samsung.

However, the tech giant is rumored to be working on a foldable iPhone which is expected to go official sometime in 2023 based on various reports. Now, a new report from analyst Ross Young claims that while the foldable iPhone isn’t launching until 2023, the device is most likely to launch in the year 2024.

Foldable iPhone Prototype

The company has been working on a prototype of this new phone, which was evident from the fact that Samsung had supplied foldable display samples to Apple for testing. It has also been rumored that the Cupertino-based giant is working with LG Display for the same.

Based on the previous reports, the foldable iPhone from Apple will come with an 8-inch flexible OLED display. Earlier this year, Bloomberg had reported that the company has started working on this new device but the work so far is limited to display only.

While Apple is years away from commercially launching its first foldable smartphone, its rival Samsung has already established its position in the market and is currently dominating with several different models up for grabs.

Even Huawei has a few foldable smartphones in the market, with a new Huawei P50 Pocket set to go official on 23rd December. Another Chinese brand Xiaomi has already launched the Mi Mix Fold while OPPO is set to launch its Find N on 15th December.
