The year 2021 marks the eighth anniversary of the establishment of OnePlus. In a short amount of time, the company has managed to leave its market in the market and garner a fanbase of loyal customers.

The company’s CEO Pete Lau has today shared an article on Weibo talking about the eighth anniversary of the company. In that, he mentions that the brand has hit the target of selling 10 million units, that too ahead of its schedule.

The company had been focusing on the flagship killer and then the premium smartphone market but since the past couple of years, the company has also started targeting the mid-range segment for smartphones.

This year, the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro models were launched as the brand’s flagship offering and the company also launched the 9R and 9RT smartphones in the market, covering the mid-range to upper mid-range market.

Unlike previous years, the company has not launched the T-suffix flagship smartphone which is usually launched in the second half of the year as an upgraded version of the smartphone that the company launches in the first half.

The Chinese brand is now gearing up to launch the OnePlus 10 series smartphones, which are confirmed to come powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. If the reports are to be believed, then the phones will go official next month for the Chinese market while customers in other regions may have to wait till March of April. To know for sure, we will have to wait for a few more days or weeks for the company to share details.

For those who are unaware, earlier this year, OnePlus merged its operations with OPPO and will now be working as a sub-brand. Along with that, the companies have also merged the codebase of the OxygenOS and ColorOS.
