The upcoming Redmi K50 series is expected to include multiple models featuring different chipsets. One of these devices, codenamed Poussin, houses a Qualcomm SM8250-based chipset rumored as Snapdragon 870+. According to a new report, this smartphone may not launch at all.

Xiaomiui was the first to report on Xiaomi Poussin with model number L10A when it emerged in MIUI code. Earlier findings revealed the presence of SM8350-based silicon, an FHD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) 120Hz display, and a wide + ultrawide + macro triple camera setup.
The handset has a single model number 21121210AC and going by that, it was supposed to be exclusive to China. So why does this phone is now said to not see a release?
Xiaomiui says that the first internal MIUI build for this device was released in August as 21.8.12. Further, its latest build is 21.11.19, which was released in November. All of its builds are based on Android 11.
Instead of changing the base to Android 12, Xiaomi stopped developing MIUI builds for this smartphone altogether. This is the reason why the handset is thought to be shelved.
Another possible reason for the termination of Xiaomi Poussin is the existence of Xiaomi Munch. For the unaware, Munch with model number L11R is identical to the Poussin. Hence, the former may hit the market instead of the latter.
